Hi! After looking hanging out on the decision on buying a 15 Mustang since they came out, I bought one yesterday. This is my *return* to Ford. The last Ford I owned was in 1990.

I must say that I never thought I would own a Ford until the last generation retro look came out but I was still turned off by the solid rear axle.

This new Mustang simply did everything right. Its the sleek, well handling sports car that I have wanted for a long time. I hope it treats me well.

As an example of how much I like this new Mustang (as a fan of classics with a liking to the old 80's 5.0's), these are the cars I have owned in the past 20+ years. I think this says a lot about how much I like this new Mustang and its independent rear suspension.

1985 Ford Escort (first car, said Id never own another Ford)
1987 Honda CRX
1988 Honda Civic DX
1993 Honda Del Sol Si
1995 Honda Del Sol Vtec
1998 Honda Civic EX
2000 Honda CRV
2000 Honda S2000 (the day it came out in the USA)
2001 Honda S2000
2002 Acura MDX Touring
2003 Acura TL Type S
2004 Honda S2000
2004 Honda Civic LX (own today, bought for son to drive)
2005 Subaru WRX Sti
2005 Honda Pilot
2007 Lexus IS350
2008 Honda Fit (don't ask, was a eco phase I went through)
2010 Toyota Sequoia Platinum (still own today)
2014 Honda Accord EXL Touring
2015 Acura TLX
2015 Ford Mustang GT Convertible.

Why did I buy a Mustang? I've always loved classic mustangs going back to the famous James Bond movie. There have been many models in the past 20 years that I really dislike.

This gen is absolutely beautiful and breaks free of the "muscle car" category and places it right in the absolutely true and balanced "sports car" category (well, it doesn't have 2 seats). My favorite car of all time was the Honda S2000 and this Mustang has the same "roadster" look to it (big front hood). with this new design, independent suspension I feel like I can finally have an S2000 with real power backing it as well as having similar finesse.

I'd like to get backto the track like I did with my S2000's and Sti.

My first Mustang!

Hi all. I finally did it. I bought my first Mustang. We had Mustangs growing up, but this is my first. Took the dealer a couple weeks to find another dealer willing to part with one, but I got exactly what I wanted, without settling on anything.

Black, 6 Speed, 20" Wheels, Upgraded Sound system, Nav, and white stitching.

Day 2 - Tinted with SunTek CXP 55 & 35
Day 3 - FR Touring Exhaust upgrade from CJPP. So glad i chickened out and didn't get the Sport. It is much louder in person and nothing like stock.

Next project - Front License Plate. I am torn. Dealer offered to put OE oMn there or buy me a Sto and Go. He made a point that he would not drill the bumper before talking to me, and I appreciated that. I don't think I care much either way, though.

Not sure what to go with after that. I wanted these particular wheels, so I won't upgrade those like I have always done on my other cars. I may lower it, and put spacers on to give it a more aggressive stance, but not any more. Shift knob is an easy upgrade and it may come next.

I must say that this is the happiest I've ever been about a vehicle. Forgive the one phone pic, but it is all I've had time for so far. I will put some better pics up as I start posting in the forums.

Picked up a fairly loaded black on black GT convertible in late July, 6-speed manual. I've only driven it about a dozen times since I live in a city (San Francisco) and only use it for recreation though it's got almost 2k miles since one of those drives was a trip down to Los Angeles!

I'll try to get some pictures though by now you all know what a black on black 2015 mustang convertible looks like - I have non-standard wheels, the 19inch optional ones with 10 spokes.

Love the way the car drives (especially the coyote V8) though a bit disappointed with the quality and refinement. Hoping some trips to service can alleviate some of it.

Coming from a 2013 BMW 535i (special ordered - 6-speed manual) which was once a Los Angeles commuter car. Great vehicle but it wasn't something that induced me to go on joy rides once I moved to this city. Managed to get a pretty solid deal on this mustang including nearly $5k off sticker and what I would have expected to get private party as a trade on my BMW (not an easy car to sell with a stick).

Look forward to engaging with the community and sharing, loving, and learning. This is my first convertible, first American car, and first new V8 purchase so lots of reasons to be excited.

Hi everyone. Brand new here.

Two weeks ago I ordered a '16 GT, Oxford White PP, with OTR stripes, saddle interior, 400A package with rear parking sensors. In the long, slloooww process of waiting for it to be built.

I have a VIN number already, but it's not showing up in COTUS yet, for some reason.

Anyway, glad to be here. Cheers!

Hi everyone, what's good?

My name is Daniel and I'll be in the market for an S550 in December of this year. The plan was to originally have it by August, but I commute to school and with the fuel economy of the GT I just couldn't justify it. So instead, I'll hold off and make it a graduation present to myself.

This would be my first Mustang ever, err, really my first performance car ever. I'm excited but a little scared to be honest. That's because I don't know how to drive a manual and I intend to get a manual. Do you guys think this would be a good car to learn how to drive a manual in?

I also enjoy doing a little photography both commercial and expressive. Here's one of my favorite images I've ever taken of my friend's BRZ -

Great photo.

And yes, the S550 is a fine car for learning a MT. Clutch uptake is smooth, not heavy, and the shifter has nice, short throws. You might light up the tires here and there (OH NO NOT THAT!), or maybe stall a few times, but I wouldn't worry at all.

I've had mine 3 days! You would love it! I learned to drive on a manual. The transmission in it is pretty good for a stock unit. If you really want to enjoy it and feel better clutch take up make sure you pull out the clutch assist spring! Myself and many others on here think that is the way to go.

Guess I'll drop by and check you guys out during lunch. I work right across I-35.

This could potentially be bad for my wallet.

Thanks man,
I hope to use my camera and get some good shots of my Mustang when I get it. And thanks for the good vibes man. I've only driven a manual car once and I did pretty well but I know every car is different. I just need practice because I understand what to do, I just don't have access to a manual car to practice in.
