Introduce yourself!!

Welcome aboard gents.

I've noticed a lot of cross shoppers from owners of the FRS/BRZ twins and BMW's and other non Mustang owners. It's great to see the S550 attracting so many new people, previous Mustang owners (like myself) and also a lot of current S197 owners. Ford has to be happy about the mix of different car guys here if it reads the site.

This forum, mustang6g, is by far the best with some very insightful members posting the most accurate and informed info....so I joined up here, hope you all don't mind.
I have to agree. An impressive community building here with a lot of informative posts and well-informed car guys. I don't believe you can search for the new Mustang and not come across this forum, it seems to have become synonymous.

My introduction - I'm Pete, born and raised in OK. I've been out of Mustangs (and Fords) for a while and currently daily drive a 2007 BMW 335i sedan.

I've owned two Mustangs over the years '67 Mustang GT (Nightmist Blue) and a 2004 Cobra briefly before I had to give that up due to needing a car with more functional back seats for a family.

The 2015 Mustang definitely rekindled my interest in getting back into Fords and getting a fun car just for me. Ford brought some sophistication back to the Mustang and I can't wait to get my hands on one. Looking forward to learning as much as I can here and hopefully meet some fellow enthusiasts along the way.

Hello!

Hi! I'm Shane and I've been lurking through some of the S550 threads. I'm really excited about the 2015 Mustang as surely most of you all are. Here's a shot of my ride.

My name is Brian, I have a Boss 302 (with plans to purchase a GT350). My hobbies pretty much revolve around my car (go figure)... track, shows, autox, etc. Also for those in North Texas, I also maintain a local car event Facebook page.

New member here...name is Jay (omcar) and just sold my 2011 mustang gt automatic base model in anticipation for the 2015. My name is on the list locally for the 50th anniversary model.
If I don't get that car I will order a base automatic GT with 3.55s in silver with black interior.

Hi everyone!

Never ever I was so excited about new car launch, but when I saw new Mustang it was love from the first sight. I love how it looks, love NA V8 with manual gearbox and the direction it is heading. It's going to be lighter, better handling, more aerodynamic etc. It's the first Mustang in Europe so I hope there will be no problem with parts&repairs in the future. I don't like the direction of most European sports cars, they're gaining more weight, automatic transmissions, more electronic nannies (traction control, top speed limiters and more). Cross my fingers for new Mustang! I hope it will rock the crowd made of Hyundai Genesis, BMW 3/4 series, Audi TT, VW GOLFS GTI's. Here in Poland most popular cars are from Germany, I know they are good, but also soulless and ultra-boring for me.

Welcome all the new guys!

M.Senger: those are problems with lots of new cars coming out now - they're becoming too 'digital' of a driving experience. Hopefully the 2015 Mustang keeps it 'analog' enough.

Hi Dr. Nick!

Hey all, name is Rob, and I found this place while trying my best to find out if the next GT350 will really be a V8TT. Looks like I am in the right place. I am in north east Texas, and I love cars, guns, politics, curling up with a warm mug of tea in front of the fire, and long walks on quiet beaches.

I've owned a small but varied collection of vehicles, starting with a Toyota Rav4 and working my way to an E46 M3, which I recently sold because all the expensive parts broke. I've always been a fan of the Mustang, and I don't really know why I've waited to get one. I'm pretty much settled on picking up an S550 after they have a chance to shake the bugs out. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the new Mustang.

I also, when I find the time (which due to a day job has been over a year) try to write for a blog my friend and I host, Cars And Cranks. Having a real job and not getting paid to write does make it a little hard, but I'm trying to get back into it. My swarthy cowritter and I have oft praised the Mustang on our page, especially since the 2010 redesign. I personally consider it the bench mark by which all other American performance cars are judged.

Hi there!

For me the ultimate driving experience is about to be as much connected to the car and the road as possible. I love manual gearing, listening how the engine revs and feel the power building with it. Most of the cars now are all about fuel efficiency and specs. But it's not all about numbers - it's more about the feeling. I like how hardcore new SRT Viper is. In Europe, Porsche puts AT into 911 GT3, Alfa Romeo instead of nice sounding V6 puts 1.75 4 cyl. turbo with cheesy AT into 4C. Hope in Yankee boys to bring us some "meat" in affordable price!

Hi everyone! I'm Richie from Mocksville N.C. I am a motorcycle technician and have always been a Ford guy! I currently have an 89 LX hatch that I drive from time to time. It only gets 9 mpg on the highway so I dont get it out much. It did however make the trip to Charlotte for all 4 days of the 50th. Since I live 50 miles from the track, I just drove back and forth. Friday night during the cruise and Saturday in the rain were no fun on worn out ET Streets lol. I work for a motorcycle dealer in Winston Salem who also happens to own a Ford dealership. I have already sent word that on the day I can order a new Mustang I will be there when they open the doors to place it!

Here is a picture of my 89

Hi there!

Just signed up tp this forum from Madrid, Spain. I am expecting to get my firts Stang and willing to buy a 2.3 Ecoboost. We expect prices here to be somewhere between € 40,000 for the base Ecoboost and € 47.000 - 50,000 for a fully loaded GT V8. Unfortunatelly, emissions regulations in the EU and obsession for efficiency have forced OEM's to switch to downsized engines, ridiculous displacements and turbos which makes engines sound like diesel and most of the times, handling of most of the newest mid-size cars which have been launched in EU during the past two years feels somehow as passionate and prone to driving enjoyment like turning on a washing machine and riding a bicycle... that's most of what we've got at this side of the Atlantic!

Hope you Americans help us on recovering the sense of what a sports - real muscle car should be (and if possible, at an affordable price!)

When I lived there, I always imagined how much fun it would be to have my '69 Cougar (Mustang's better looking, but now deceased cousin) there with me. I am envious.

Oops, sorry.

Just realised I didn't introduce myself when I joined recently.

My name is Roo and I'm another from the UK. Currently own an '09 GT/CS convertible which I've had from new.

As others have said, definitely an interesting source of information this forum.

Hi TT.
