Yeah, maybe a certain run of heads had some kind of imperfect casting that wasn't caught, who knows. I first got the CEL around 25,000 miles and I hope in another 25,000 it doesn't return.

After the engineering hotline had them run all of the tests, they finally just told them to change the head. There was nothing that the ford service guys could find wrong with it.

Picked up my car last night from the dealership after having the head replaced. Oil was changed and coolant added as well too. No CEL or weak sounding backfires this morning on the way to work but it's only been about 12 hours since I got it back. I'll report back if I get a CEL again for sure...

I certainly will. Ford was nice enough to set me up with a rental too... a fusion. I immediately missed the power of my mustang.

I was told last Friday they are going to replace the head on my car. I don't know how they came to that conclusion but we will see if this fixes it. I get it back tomorrow.
