Only owned one Ford in my entire life (2003 Excursion) and I have been driving for 26 years!
My wife just said "Hell has frozen over" when she saw I joined a Mustang Forum. I'm one of those who said he would never own a Mustang. Well, the 2015 has changed my outlook. Most recent 'toys' were a E60 M5 and a GTR, so this is a big change for me. But for some reason, I am drawn to this car…….

Jeez!

Just "how" old are you to have had THAT many cars? Were you born in a car dealer, man?

Not necessarily. I've had as many if not more. It's called being wasteful with money, or that's at least how my Mom and then my wife phrased it. Nice collection though, dontcha think?

It depends, for instance I paid $11,500 out the door for my 1990 Integra, I drove it 2.5 years and sold it for $10,500 I added a few performance parts. My 2009 Challenger I got for $20,250 out the door, the car easily sells for $17000 today. Basically if you buy the right car, take care of it, you are looking at $1000 to $1500 / year loss. Which is what you would get with a Corolla.

I predict the Mustang 4T out the door for $24,000 by Nov 2014, and the 5.0 420 HP, when the 480+ HP version comes out in say Feb 2015, will drop to $30,000. Mustang resale is NOT as good as Challenger resale (few made), I would expect a $2000 / year depreciation, well within reason for the 4T.

Hi all
Daily drive a 2013 GT Prem/Track Pack, sadly haven't made it to a track yet. So far I'm pretty excited about the new platform. For now will just watch and wait for the direct injected 5.0 to come out, then will seriously consider my options.

Hi all! I have to say this forum has had a lot of play over the last few weeks. I plan on a 2015 so I figured I'd join up. Lots of good stuff on here. I hope I can contribute.

Oldman, your car list is weird and awesome. I have a GLH as well (still) and an AMC product. About the old Shelby's...... It's fun to go to the "Shelby site" filled with GT500 guys and I was registered WAY earlier than any of them because of that little Dodge. :)

Did you notice that Oldman also claimed he drives a 4 banger.

Maybe we works at Ford. Several recent joiners have claimed to drive S550s.

Sure nice to have them aboard.

2012 GT 6MT w/ Brembos
Hello all,

First post. Have been lurking to this point.

Been a Mustang fan since I was old enough to care about cars. First car was a '79 Mustang 2.8 V6. I had really wanted a classic 60s model, but to buy one that was driveable was well out of the price range for a teenage young man making $5 per hour.

Got my second Mustang in 1996 -- a '95 GT. Wasn't long before the mods started and by the time all was said and done it was sporting aluminum heads, cam, intake, suspension mods, Wilwood 6-piston brakes and a Vortech S-Trim. Spent way too much money on that darn car! Blew a head gasket and bent a rod on it (while sitting in a parking lot ironically) a few years ago and it sat in my garage untouched pretty much. Just didn't have it in me to fix it. Finally earlier this year I stripped off as many of the performance parts as I could take off easily and donated the car to charity. I simply needed the garage space and I knew there was no realistic way it was going to be fixed. Of course the fact that I picked up a 2012 GT Brembo a couple years back helped soften the blow of losing my longtime baby. ;) The 2012 was basically everything I TRIED to make my '95 into (but still fell short). It's just a superior car in pretty much every way. I really enjoy it.

And fast forward to now, with the 2015 having just been unveiled. My first impression was that I didn't like the front or the rear at all. But the more I stare at the pictures and videos, the more it's really growing on me. I'm ecstatic about all of the technical changes too, with the modern suspension (finally!), better brakes, dramatically better interior, and finally (REJOICE) wheels that actually FILL IN the wheel wells -- aftermarket springs are no longer mandatory for once. I really like the lower, sleeker, more aggressive stance too.

I really wanted to wait for whatever the next special edition is (GT350, Mach 1?), but unfortunately it sounds like that may be 2-3 years off still. I think the GT is going to be awesome enough in its own right that I just don't think I can justify waiting that long for an S550!

Now I'm just waiting anxiously to hear two specs: the horsepower/TQ and the weight. If it's rated over 440HP (hoping it will be very underrated) and weighs less than the current model, I am going to be absolutely stoked!

Anyway, glad to be here and really excited about this car. Hoping I won't have any trouble picking one up at MSRP.

The one I want: Guard Green or Deep Impact Blue GT with the Performance Package and Tech package. Only thing I'm not sure about is whether I want the Recaros. They look very functional, but they just don't look very comfortable to me. Doesn't seem like there's much padding at all. Any of you guys sit in similar seats? Are they more comfortable than they look? Could you take a road trip in them comfortably? I don't really plan on tracking the car, so they may be overkill anyway. Hoping the standard seats are at least bolstered a bit better than the current ones.
