Yes I had your aluminum radiator in my 1G TSI AWD a while back, it was very well made and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Really interested how far you can get this new ecobeast.
I have a DIB 2013. It is ... glorious, when the sun shines, but at all other times it it's kinda dead, lacks definition as you say. My next Mustang will be Magnetic or Silver (or whatever the equivalents colors are at the time).
For everybody who's wishing for DI:

then again it's been a few years
To everybody who was, um, excessively optimistic about the 2015 numbers: you should've read this very detailed article about the BOSS engine

It shows just how much work it took for the relatively modest bump from 408...
Could be much better than the S197. But like I said getting stuck in snow is just one of the possible problems that come with winter driving. You can have godlike traction and still get hit by a clueless driver. I'll never forget one time I was driving home in a snowstorm (in an AWD minivan)...
The problem won't be your Mustang trying to kill you, but you biting your nails to avoid scratching your brand new $40K car.
Think of the $1-2K beater as an accessory to your $40K 5.0. You will need a lot of dedication to maintain your new car pristine if you want to daily it all year round...
I hated the Pirellis. They would stick right to the point when they would lose grip abruptly with no warning. Horrible in cold and wet. I now run 275 BFG g-Force Comp 2, much happier so far.
Yes, way too much torque. You can find yourself in a situation where if you apply a little gas, the tires will just slowly spin in place; you could give it a lot of gas and brute force your way out, however you risk some fishtailing (you've already turned off traction control, cause it limits...
I don't know what you're running but the factory Pirellis couldn't deal with even this much snow.
Whereas with the X-Ice3 I could go up hill no problem. It's not very clear from this photo but the driveway is pretty steep.
But like I said, while doable, I don't recommend driving your 5.0 in...
I've ran a winter on the Michelin X-Ice X-i3s in my 5.0 (all 4). The snow traction is amazing. However these are not sporty at all, prepare for your sports car to handle like an SUV. Next winter I plan to get a beater (I've found that traction is not your only problem during the winter) but if I...
No, what they said is that it will beat a BOSS around the track, but hp-wise it will slot between the current GT and the BOSS, so ~430 would be realistic.
I will be waiting for the direct injected 5.0, 2016 or later. It makes no sense to me to rush for the 2015 if the next year has 50 hp more. Plus I've only had my 2013 for a year and am only beginning to appreciate it fully.
Hi all
Daily drive a 2013 GT Prem/Track Pack, sadly haven't made it to a track yet. So far I'm pretty excited about the new platform. For now will just watch and wait for the direct injected 5.0 to come out, then will seriously consider my options.
