Going with an ESS G2 w/ G3 intercooler, i hear 15-17s flatline with stock intake. I haven't done an intake swap since my 98 car... would it be easier to do the intake manifold while doing supercharger install considering i have to pull the plugs and injectors anyway?
Also, everyone has recommended the ford performance 18+ manifold, but theGT350, cobra jet and Boss 302 intakes are about the same price, are there any benefits to one over the other?
i like the Boss 302 intake just cuz it looks badass and would go very well with the supercharger in the engine bay.

Just pick up a 18 up manifold , it doesn't need to be from ford performance. Make sure to discuss it with your tuner . The intake runners need to be tuned right or locked out .

These molded plastic intakes are super simple and no gasket issues. I'd do it all at once. You have to pull the injector rail off anyway.

Just looked, they're all about $330 to $350. If a GT350 intake is $520 and it flows better, isn't it better to get that one?

Be sure to check stock hood clearances. I'm not sure but I do remember that one of those listed may hit the stock hood.

I have the GT350 manifold on the BULLITT and I understand it gives up some low end grunt (air velocity) for some top end breathing (air volume). Forced induction would be beneficial to the low end and benefit from the flow on the top end.

Any of those choices would be better than the 15-17 manifold.

The cobra jet hits the hood, gotta do lowering engine mounts for it or get a cowl hood. But it sure does look sick AF lol but the GT350 intake seems pretty easy, just don't know how it flows vs the 18 GT intake.

The flow difference is above about 7500 rpm . They are close in flow . I may br partial to the 18 mani because that is what I am running . And 200 bucks price difference can be spent elsewhere .

Don't forget the GT350 has a different throttle body and will be needed and/or otherwise accounted for by the tuner. The 18+ manifold will be cheaper, easier to find used (no problem finding a good deal on one) and probably present less obstacles all around.

The CJ manifold does look awesome but don't forget the other various bits and pieces required. Things add up!

If it's above 7500 rpm then that's useless to me due to OPG/CS being stock and I'm not changing them unless i have to. I'm likely going to ask to put my hard rev limit at 7600rpm so there would be no benefit. Got it, thanks for the explanation.
did you have your supercharger on before or after the intake?

I was looking to swap out mine just to get more out my n/a car. These 2 files were shared with me, one is from Tricky performance, the other from motor trend. My car is a 21 so there isn't much benefit for me even though I was still going to go for a bullit ported one, I opted to get some rear drags instead. But if I had the $ & was going to add a s/c as well as driving a gen 2, I'd definitely do the GT350. These 2 are comparisons of the 18+ mani vs gt350/bullit IM

@Cordero1 thanks for these graphs, they are fantastic! but based on these, it looks like the 18 manifold has more throughout all the ranges, unless im reading it wrong??

Top one the blue is Gt350, bottom one blue is 18+. They both look like they intermingle up to 5700 then the GT350 seems to have the edge & goes up to 7500 where as the 18+ falls off just short of that. Now boost being forced in will that make a big difference I don't know, but I would assume so. I think the GT350/Bullit IM is more for max effort, for when you are trying to squeeze every last bit of hp out of your engine. When it comes down to it, I'd ask myself, what my end goal is for the car, & go off that. You could use that $ to start saving up for a short block or to upgrade the trans for when it gives out. Not saying that it will, but better safe than sorry.

yeah man, on your point, my end goal i'll likely have the power i need/want out of the supercharger and stock 15 intake really to be honest.
but you're definitely right about the transmission HAHA i've beat the snot out of mine and i'm sure i'm not going to be any smoother with a supercharger under the hood lol so you make a good point there!!

There have been several documented tests showing that the order of performance is cobrajet>GT350>Boss>18 manifold. People only liked the 18 manifold because it is cheap. Also you don’t need OPG’s to rev to 8k rpm, they’re an up sell myth a lot of shops like to push. Only needed if you constantly hang off the limiter or use a 2 step.

The spin isn't the issue, banging it of rev limit or 2 step is the issue.

7800 spin is music
