I've been about 19 to the 20.

Considering my last 4 cyl turbo got 26 it's not too bad.

Impressive Bob. BTW, Atlanta will screw one up coming, or going. I hate driving through there. Sometimes more than I hate driving through DC. :)

What the heck? I thought I was doing GREAT with my 20.5 highway/city mix. Maybe I should switch to the left one on the leg press at the gym?

guys like OP are the ones sitting in the fast lane with cruise control set to 65... get out of my way
au contraire! I do stay out of the left lane except to pass. In fact, on this trip, I probably spent more time in the right lane than any other.

One of my part-time retirement jobs is driving big trucks so I'm pretty sensitive to not being a fast lane blocker...

I never got better than 18mpg in my '08 GT. My Whippled GT gets 14-15 avg at best.

If you're getting over 25mpg, your computer is lying to you and/or you're driving it like a corpse. Neither are good.

I've been getting 27 on my work commute. Its about 100 miles daily of interstate going 75-80. Not going any faster than that, cops are out nearly every day. They had a red Boss 302 pulled over last week.

Sure didn't buy it for the mpg but I'll take it gladly. Considering my Focus ST only got 28 mpg on the same commute. It's pretty impressive engineering on Ford's part.

2015 Focus ST
3200 pounds
250 hp
28 mpg hwy

2018 Mustang GT
3800 pounds
460 hp
27 mpg hwy

The GT does use A LOT more gas in the city though understandably.

I just returned home from a 2k mile round-trip road-trip from my home near Detroit to Steeda in Valdosta, GA in my 2018 GT. The only mods prior to leaving are a new aFe Pro-S dry replacement air filter and my lighter than stock wheels/tires. When I left the car had less than 2k miles on the odo.

I-75 is basically flat from Detroit down through Ohio and into Kentucky and Tennessee where you start to run into some rolling hills and then it flattens out again in Georgia.

I drove very conservatively at only 2 - 3 mph over the speed limits which were mostly 70 mph and I used cruise control the majority of the time.

My mileage was calculated using Fuelly versus going off the cars computer which I found to be a touch optimistic.

I left home without a full tank and my first fill-up was in Perrysburg, OH and I kept track of the trip mileage from that point on:

1) 29.0 mg

2) 27.9 mpg

3) 25.6 mpg

4) 26.3 mg

5) 28.0 mpg

6) 28.3 mpg

Metro Atlanta traffic screwed me on the way down and on the way back so that's where it fell off into the 25's and 26's. But overall I'm extremely pleased with the numbers!
We have a great parter in Michigan Vehicle Solutions in Southgate, MI that Steeda Performance Vehicles does a lot of work with - check em out www.mivehiclesolutions.com

Drove from north of Cinci to Bristol, TN with heavily loaded car (2 people, 4 wheels, jack, tools, lots of other stuff - basically no space left, was sitting low on springs) and got 27.6mpg with 3.55 rear end. Mostly ~5mph above speed limit with some hills on the way. I thought about towing it (have F150 ecoboost with 10 speed auto) but that would make no sense at all...
Pictures or didnt happen.
I can hear benny hill music playing while unloading.
People stuffed in the wheels? How is this possible.

Nothing wrong with getting decent MPG in a car that has over 400hp. Years ago if you got 8mpg out of a performance car it was decent lol. My buddies Mach 1 used 5 gallons of gas to go 15miles :).

Havnt done a long haul since my tune but Im sure I will be happy since I would rather set at 75 on the highway then pay a 300 buck speeding ticket.

I did a more local drive about an hour one way to Columbus then another hour back. On the way home I filled up before hitting the highway and reset the meter. I ended up with 29.9 as I was coasting down the exit ramp back home. Almost got ot to 30.0 if there was 100' more of exit ramp before I had to stop.

I've been averaging 16-19 mpg depending on how much highway driving is needed. The best I've ever seen was 27.1 mpg on a short 2 hour road trip to see family. That was with adaptive cruise set at 85. Just relaxed the whole way. Computer said 28 point something. Maths said 27.1

This is with the 10r80 and the 3.15 gears. Whether you care about MPG or not... I was impressed by how efficient the motor could be considering the power it makes.
