Just an FYI...If you're over 36k miles you will have no powertrain warranty remaining if you install any of the Ford performance packs. If you're under 36k miles then you'll only have whatever mileage remains until you hit 36k.

Really OP, take a performance driving class(es)/sessions. Your in Cali and there are some very legendary tracks with associated driving
programs attached to them. Driver mod is the best mod next to good tires and brakes.

Or if your in my hood you can join our private car club and do monthly auto-X for less than the price of 1 weeks beer budget. Just sayin...

Probably, in a few months once the PP2 cars come out, you'll be able to buy complete wheel/tire sets from people who upgrade to some really lightweight wheels like HRE's, etc.

a little over budget, but the Power Pack will give you some extra power, and those wider wheels will help you put it down.

And having Ford parts will make your car more "sellable" down the road.

Tune, tuner (used), skip headers go with cat deletes and throw all the other money you would have wasted on them into suspension upgrades. I have intake, catback, e85 flex tune and honestly couldn't imagine why I would need anymore power for the type of driving I do (mountain, back road cruising mostly). It's the perfect amount of power to push the car through the curves hard but not enough to get yourself in a lot of trouble. I would rather focus on the handling aspect of the car. Of course if drag racing is your thing than 3k isn't much to do anything if you are trying to run actual fast times.

If he had a terminal disease or congenital defect which shortens life I would agree. But I am an old fart and as such see life through older and fartier eyes. I would tell him to put that money away then save again. Then cheat him again and save the money again. When I was young I had to beg my dad to bail me out and he always lorded that over me. It was like 4000. Mods for my car or keeping my dignity. Hummmmm...
