I'm trying to convince to him to spec a Race Red with black roof and stripe delete ;)DO IT! You know you want to...even though you have a lot done to your car and it's amazing as it sits right now.
That "R" though...

Not interested in the straight line car anymore. Although I take it will do both. Nothing has my attention other than the R and the RaptorAre you going to want the GT500 when it comes out???
If no way then he'll yeah get the R for MSRP.
I am happy with it. Some compment is the exclusivity. And that this is the car I wanted to buy, but wasn't able due to the markups. If you're happy with your current ride I would say no. I don't think it's worth it except for bragging rights unless you're tracking it often. JMO.
Agreed. I am attached to my car. And as it was keenly pointed out, it truly is MY car.A problem many would love to have. Good luck with your decision....can't go wrong either way. That said, I doubt you will ever be able to replicate the emotional connection you have with your car. I went for the next best thing once and kind of regretted it.
Sponsors are ok with the switch and don't feel slighted. I also would do substantially less modifying, The beauty of the 350 is that I wasn't afraid to build it. The R i would be less likely to mod, but then again that is what I enjoy about having a mustang. But what about the sponsors?
It was pure luck and through relationships I've built along the way with my car. Someone reached out to me about my build, we got to chatting, and he introduced me to the right person. How did you get a R at MSRP offer??
Adding up what I paid for mine with tax, title, registration, paint protection, and minor add-one, And what I would lose when trying to sell it, it becomes a losing proposition, probably lose around $10-15K. But for a R at sticker, I would spend the extra money to acquire one.
Exactly.DO IT! You know you want to...even though you have a lot done to your car and it's amazing as it sits right now.
That "R" though...
Shouldn't you be heading to the Ring right now?How worried will you be over the CF wheels and will it effect how or when you drive the car? If a lot then dont do it.
True. This is my only true hobby. If the money I spent got me the intended reward then it was worth it. Trying to make back every dollar you spend is not realistic in this hobby. It's all about the love of it.If I'm not mistaken, you modded your car as a hobby, not to make a living. Most hobbies cost something. The older we get, the more they cost. So, any "loss" is simply the cost of your hobby, which pays in satisfaction.
With your knack for personalizing cars, if you get the R you will make it a unique piece of mechanical art the same way you did your tech. It's also doubtful that it will be a garage queen, considering how much you invested to be able to take your tech to the track at your choosing.
Ultimately, you'll get your money's (and hobby's) worth.
The wheels aren't a real concern. I drive the car selectively now. If I can I will try to keep my signature wheel for the R and put the CF ones away. How worried will you be over the CF wheels and will it effect how or when you drive the car? If a lot then dont do it.
I wish bit everyone cancelled because of the 60% chance of rain. But i sit here and im looking at a nice partly cloudy day.Shouldn't you be heading to the Ring right now?
It looks like I am pretty solid right now, with the possibility to get an 18 instead, but that isn't set in stone. If I had to wait I could, but I would be in limbo for a few. I went ahead and spec'd out the car how I wanted it. Waiting for whatever confirmation would come next and to place a deposit. Is there a risk that it will not be available in a few weeks? When I ordered mine - if I had waited den an extra day, I probably would have missed it.
Also - you've horribly devalued your current car with all of those mods - I'll give you $40k for it right now ;). Someone is going to enjoy your old car, for sure!
