SOLD!!!

my man derieuz, you are a man amongst men! I have been waiting forever for this to come out. Even before I bought my S550, I wanted hurst to make a shifter.. This is super exciting for me. EXCEPT i had that dang reverse lockout lever.... damn that is hideous.... I would like to figure out how to eliminate that possibly....

Also, don't you have to go under the car to do shifters on this thing?????

I had checked Hurst's site over the weekend, and nothing. Just did a search on their site, and no shifter for the S550 shows up.

Body mounted shifter?

Did find this "interesting" when searching as well:

Hurst Lowering Springs

1" drop, 235 lb/in FRONT / 830 lbs/in REAR Linear rate. PP springs = 165lb/in FRONT / 728lbs/in REAR.

That is all...

Didn't see a new boot to replace the stock unit.

I'm sorry, but that shifter looks like a waste of money, just spend another 100 or so and get a Barton or MGW. Just looks like some made in china crap, with that t bar reverse lever up front, doesn't look like they put much R&D into this "piece"

Kinda agree here. I debated for weeks whether to get the Hurst or MGW for my '08 GT. I originally went with the Hurst. It rattled and felt poorly made. After a week of driving with it, I ordered the MGW and gave the Hurst away to my mechanic.

As I mentioned in the other Hurst thread their S197 shifter was well below the other major players(MGW, Barton, Steeda) in quality, design, and function.

Hurst hasn't been Hurst for quite a number of years. Even back in the mid eighties the replacement shifter I bought from Hurst was of poor quality with the chrome plate peeling within a couple of months ownership.

Sad about Hurst... In the 60's it was THE shifter to get. I couldn't believe it when I saw this design with the hideous reverse lockout lever. It looks terrible.
