Question re: Short Throw Shifters from Steeda, Barton, Hurst and MGW

Do the high end short throw shifters (MGW X Spec, Steeda Tri-Ax, Barton Hybrid) eliminate or reduce lock out? Are they worth the investment?

My only experience is with the MGW X-spec. No lock outs, but I don't push the RPMs very hard (usually). I love the look, performance and feel of it. It's my favorite mod.

Edit: I bought mine through Terry @ Beefcake. His site showed the flat stick option, while MGW's site didn't.

I have the Steeda Tri-ax race shifter (with stiff springs installed). My rev limiter is set at 7900 and I‘ve shifted at 7600 several times with no locked out issues. I should add that I also have the following drivetrain supporting mods: Whiteline transmission bushing insert, Steeda polyurethane motor mounts, Steeda differential bushings (black ones) and a Steeda (hardcore) differential bracket. I believe all of these things combined really eliminate any unnecessary shifter flex which can lead to missed shifts.

I can… it’s been nasty. No fun on jackstands. Now that you mention it, I haven’t seen a full write up on the install on jackstands.
