Perhaps you need to learn and appreciate this adage:
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the Sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Friend, you're on your own. Look for extra saving during Black Friday in about a week.
I like the quote and will actually use it at work tomorrow. Thank you. However, I never said I was chasing a low price. The MGW is $475 and the Hurst is $295. This has nothing to do with the price difference. Heck, you could buy a Steeda shifter for the cost difference. The Hurst is an improvement over the stock shifter by providing a 38% shorter throw. I not a competition racer nor do I want to be. I simply want a shorter shift with some retro style.

I say go for it. Let us know here what you think when you get it in. I used hurst in the past and love the looks and feel of their stuff. I have a hurst in my 65. You can't beat the looks. In my 15 I have a steeda short shifter, cause I'm cheap. LOL

Gr8ride65, I see this thread's a year old, but did you ever get the Hurst shifter? If so, do you like it?

The retro flat chrome arm with the Hurst name stamped into it just speaks to me — it's as much about the look as it is the 38% reduction in throw. I've a friend running a Barton in his PP that he tracks, and it's an excellent shifter, but the Hurst has much more style. And it keeps the factory's lift-up reverse lock-out, which I love (MGW doesn't keep it either).

I'd love to see some pictures of the shifter installed to help me make up my mind before I buy, if you have any.

I hear you friend. I feel the same way. My '66 mustang has s hurst shifter. However, your type of comment is the only positive about Hurst ever said. Also with the hurst, carefully read the install. They did not do much to make it simple for us.

From the research I have done, MGW is where I am going. Just waiting for some Black Friday sales to buy one.

I have not heard a bad word about the MGW yet.

That works... kind of like dropping a Coyote engine into a '65 fastback.
I'll check it out! :headbang:
