I picked: "If it gains a lot of weight (100+ lbs) I will not buy it period."

That's not exactly how I feel, but it is pretty close. For me, if it gained a lot of weight, but still handled very well, I might get it. I'm less worried about power and more about handling, and as we've seen with some versions of the Camaro (1LE and Z/28 specifically), even a relatively heavy car can be made to be very fun at the track.

As far as my guesses go:
3550 lbs
440 HP
$43,000 (GT with Recaros, fancy radio, and nav - Intended to be about $1500 more than a similar 2014)

I will be waiting for info on the GT350 (or whatever they call it) before buying, as that is the version I'm most interested in. Hoping it will be $50,000-$55,000.

I'm not too concerned if there's a slight increase. IMO the main thing I want addressed as far as performance is the handling feel and steering. The GT might put up good track numbers but driving the 2013 GT (with track pack) still feels like trying to steer a land yacht compared to the focus/fiesta st and boss 302.

agree handling and feel more important. im coming from a smaller car (beater miata) too.

3450 lbs, 445hp (lets top that boss), and $34000 for base gt.

ok not my line in the sand specs but what i will be very happy with. ill buy one as long as pricing does not get ridiculous.

If it has less than 450HP I'll be pretty disappointed.

^Unlikely. A new design and a 30HP or more increase would be lights out for the competition but I don't see Ford being that aggressive in the first year.

I checked "if it gains a lot of weight I will not buy it." Also unlikely IMO.

Seems like most people do not care about the weight, but more concerned over the price. I am sold on the design and technology.. but I'll have to wait to test drive one.

Under 4000lbs, 420HP+ and $33k would make me consider one if the test drive goes well

The camaro 1LE spanks the Boss 302, so the new GT PP better be faster than the 1LE, or else...

Now that would lead me to believe that the new specs will be:
444 hp +
3600 lbs max
40k in a 1LE comparable package.

I get this sinking feeling that we aren't going to see HP/TQ, weight or pricing yet.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can see Ford holding out a little longer on these, closer to the May 11th order banks opening date.

I don't think so. The 1LE spanked the Boss because of its superior suspension and bigger tires. The Boss was substantially faster in a straight line. The s550 needs better suspension tuning and tires. Losing weight always helps, but not strictly necessary to beat the heavy 1LE. More power is just a band-aid. Also a few ppl on M6G in the know have hinted that it will have less power than the Boss and make up for it in other ways. Hopefully this can be taken to mean less weight; better suspension is a given.

I plan on buying the ecoboost with navigation and Selectable driving modes. I don’t really know what package that is or Eco boost with Premium package. I will use it as a daily driver and hope the gas mileage is good.

Surprised at the results so far. Despite all the anxiety about weight and power, a lot of people seem pretty sure about the car unless Ford blows the price.

440/405
3550lbs (unchanged)
$33500 base GT MSRP

If it packs on 50lbs or more and is $34k or more I would seriously reconsider.

Which is more important?
None of the above. All three will be close enough to today's car, and we already know that my Boss is obsoleted by the GT+PP.

The #1 thing is the IRS and associated suspension revisions. That's what matters to me. Handling is what it's all about.

This is also where I stand, however, the weight is less of an issue. I am way more price sensitive than anything else. I am looking for a car under ~42k, but I won't buy a Mustang near the top of that range largely because they have a history of depreciating much faster than other cars I'm looking at.
