I doubt a recession is coming anytime soon. The economy is booming.
Hello; Can you expand on this? In the past when inflation was high a recession has happened. The recessions I have seen were during times of lesser inflation than is currently happening.

For one, the Reserve Bank puts a 6% chance on a recession happening soon, compared to almost 40% last August.

"cheap" was 2019. Unless it's world-wide depression #2 I dbout prices will correct into "cheap" territory. Buy when there's blood in the streets.
Yes, it seems like a bad idea to wait. By waiting, prices might continue to go up and there will be less availability.

Hello; I have been thru this sort of thing before. This episode is bad so far with worse to come. The deficit spending, national debt and printing of money is at never-before-seen levels. I have seen reports that you have to go back the WWII to find similar levels of spending.

That said the past episodes for gas guzzlers was that the values went down a lot eventually. Part of it is Mustangs are mass produced no matter how dear to our hearts they may be. I can see some low production or special models holding value a bit longer.
I already see the prices of full sized vans coming down. I am not likely to have another one again but i do look at them when browsing.
The prices may boil down to a contest between ever increasing inflation and how many can continue to afford the higher fuel prices. I will keep looking and from time to time will make an offer at lower than asking.
I just do not see prices going up on the more common models over time. This current situation reminds me of house prices right before 2008. I had some sellers have an inflated asking price one week and the next week ask even more. Then it all went bad for sellers. By waiting I got my current home for less than the owners had paid three years before. A place to live is a necessity while a nice car is nice to have but not a necessity.
I fully expect sellers to try to hold out for the higher prices of late, but also expect the pendulum to swing the other way.

So true, for me anyway. I heard the exhaust of a stock EB and I'm glad I went with a GT. Can't beat the sound of a V8.
I over look that when I fill up at gas station and a good stereo lol. quiet at cruise, comfortable, cheap

Did not seem to affect mine.

Sold a fox body 4 cylinder 5 speed for 12k

2 years ago tried to sell it, asking 6500 and nobody would bite-not even an offer.

my question is....some states have already enacted legislation such that you will not be able to register a gasoline powered car starting in 2030.

If they're doing this, and I don't doubt they are, how are they gonna force people to buy EV's that cost 80,000+? Are they paying them for the new EV's? Because I can't afford one, not a cheap one not a uncheap one.

well there are EV in the low 30's but don't worry. They'll just counterfit the money or you'll get a bus/ride-share voucher along with the welfare check. It's not like they expect people to work or nothing. And since food and everything else comes on an Amazon truck, all you need for a fruitful and happy life is CNN+ and other sources of streaming video.

being an offshoot of Commie-fornia they'll just deny you initial registration INTO the state. If the car is already in-state it can change hands. You just can't buy a new one or bring it across the border unless you're ALSO moving into the state and it has some XXX miles indicating it's not a recent purchase.

I'm sorry, but it's really hard to trust an entity that doesn't want a recession to happen. The economy is as much psychological as it is physical, so the last thing you want is to tell people a recession is around the corner, thus inadvertently creating one.
