Do hand controls weigh less than driver's legs? non-concern

While I agree with the dump proposition, I have to point out I've had my liner out since the car was new, the car is only used for road course track days and there is zero paint damage from heat. This thing gets driven hard, like I am very familiar with the axle overheat warning on the dash. I would think if it was going to happen it would have by now, I think the liner is there more for sound damping than anything else.
I’ve also had mine off for a while to make sure the supercharger pulley wouldn’t come into context with it. Zero issues with the paint. I also think the Mustang logo they hid under there is a nice feature that shouldn’t have been covered up. Once she’s in the garage, I typically pop the hood anyway though.

Yes, me too, hood up and the battery charger is on to keep the dinky battery up. Amazing the number of people who look at it and don't notice the logo under the hood both at home and at the track, I'd say about 10% of people notice it and they always comment favorably on it. Nice touch, but mostly unnoticed for sure.

I have seen zero negative effects from taking off the hood liner but have noticed a significant drop in engine and intake temperatures as well as a better sound coming from the V8. I guess if you want a hot and quiet engine then keep it on, but that pony under the hood alone is enough reason for me to keep it off

Buy a supercharger and forget about the weight lol. Loosing weights does help though. Good luck man.

Only things I would consider for weight re-distribution would be a trunk ice/coolant tank in the spare wheel well, huge wide rear wheels and tires and maybe battery relocation. Battery relocation actually adds overall weight though. Actually all these things add overall weight. You could get a carbon fiber hood but I dont think removing a liner is going to make much of a difference. The carbon fiber hoods say they do require heat shielding.
