Crazy. I see guys out here running 12lbs of boost on pump with no issues. I get 10.5 lbs of boost and need a new short block... wtf smh

So should I get a new tune through another company? Take off the tq booster? It felt like the tune was on point. I had zero drivability issues. Car pulled pretty good. Check engine kept coming on. What should I do? Machanic said it was a Ford defect. Do I need to have a longer break in period? I did about 1000 to 1200 miles break in period
Thanks for your help. We removed the cats after the misfire code. Then I drove it home and the check engine light came back on after removing the cats. The driverside cat got clogged the first time. We figured the clogged cat was the reason for the misfire code and the broken ring. But now I'm having the same damn issue again with a new short block. Like you said the is not a complicated setup and E85 with just band aid it so what should I do? I talk to lund and they're saying it's not their fault. They told me to check my injectors which I did. Nothing wrong with them. If you were in my shoes what would you do? I can't remember how many revisions I had with the tune. Maybe 3
Id search on here. I dont know the 5.0 tuners. Mines stock and staying that way. I have to many toys anywaysThanks man. Any suggestions tunner wise?
May not be the tune at all. Could be a bad spark plug, bad spark plug gap, or a weak coil on hole #8 both times.A) get a new mechanic
B) get a new tuner
This issue is 100% tune related. No fucking way two engines failed identically.

Go back and read post # 20 and answer the question. Which side of the piston was the ring land broken, intake valve side or exhaust valve side?
Tuner and tune go hand in hand. If there is an issue with detonation, regardless the cause the tuner would've seen it as knock. He should've mentioned it.May not be the tune at all. Could be a bad spark plug, bad spark plug gap, or a weak coil on hole #8 both times.

There's no sign of detonation on the top of the piston. Most likely the detonation happened in the ring groove. Under boost weak spark will cause the ring groove to fill with fuel. Getting out of boost causes accumulated fuel in the ring land to detonate, breaking the ring land.Tuner and tune go hand in hand.
