Help me understand E85

So, why does that ethanol sticker not perpetually live on the pump and instead seems to be a seasonal thing?

I did some googling and what I find is all gas in NJ has to be ethanol except race gas. No idea why the sticker gets removed.

I would run E85 on basically any car I owned. Not just for the performance. It is a better fuel than 93/91/87 etc. It burns cooler and heat is the enemy of every car.

Run a catch can, they are super cheap and easy to install.

Is that on the Bullitt?? I have a 20 Bullitt and for whatever reason was ignorant of the hp gain. Like 10% power bump with a tune and e85? Which is right at GT350 numbers... Might be why Ford didn't have the system turned on from the factory (my understanding is all the equipment is there but the fuel table or whatever is missing).

What's your Bullitt sound like on e85 tune? Any different?

Interesting... All the gas stations remove and reapply it around the same time... I think I need to do some digging!

Nice numbers! Was the pull/tune done on a DynoJet Dyno? What other mods do you have done to your Bullitt?

My 2019 Bullitt came in a 22 hp less than yours with LTHs, E85, PMAS and an x-pipe.

Do you have any Gas & Wash stations near you? I’m just south of the city and have several local Gas&Wash stations that clearly advertise on their pumps “minimum 70% ethanol content”. I fuel from these stations 100% of the time, test every fill, and can confirm the E content is consistently high.

I’m about 20 miles north of DT on the lake and all I have is a Thortons.
Everything else is west burbs mostly

So how does a flex fuel tune work with gas mileage, run e85 and you lose 33% or run 93 and I’m back to normal all of a sudden ?

I ran E85 on my Whippled 1st gen for 3 years straight. Winter & summer. Never got any rust or heard of anyone getting rust. This is new news right to me.

Ethanol attracts water. If it sits you end up with water in your fuel. The irony is car tuners want ethanol, boaters look for non-ethanol fuel due to the water issue

The added complexity and extra hassle outweigh the benefit in my opinion.

I cannot believe there is a guy here that test his fuel on every fill up. That is absurd for a street driven non professional racing person to do.
