Hey Alekha. I logged onto Mustang6 today to post mine for sale. So expect to see a thread later today hopefully.
I have a 2018 Hellion TT Mustang PremiumGT with 13,XXX miles (on the body. 450 on the motor) on it for sale. It is turn-key ready to drive to the grocery store or the dragstrip to...
Putting up for sale my 2022 Mustang GT. It is stock except for the GT500 Front End and side skirts, which were professionally installed here just about 2 months ago. Car is in mint condition but my job is moving me out of the country Jan 2023.
Blacked out badging
GT500 Front End and Rocker...
Do what you want man. Every person I have met who is pushing 1000+ HP out of these things will tell you hands down that OPGs are a must.
There is a grand canyon wide difference between throwing a Whipple on your car and putting out 700 to 800 hp and pushing 20 pounds of boost into this engine...
I would leave the compression alone. It is squatting hard, that is good.
It needs to stay like that for a bit longer. But looking at your mod list you may not have the power needed to keep the g force pushing the car down.
This might be weird sounding but I would try a 4/10 (compression...
Weight transfer looked good. Maybe adjust the rebound to 14 so it does not throw the weight forward so quickly. I forget off the top of my head maybe try 12/14 then 12/10 (or 12/11).
It squatted really well but it looked like it threw it forward a bit too quickly.
Not going to matter what gears you run with those rims and tires. Need some 305/17 inch in the rear. Then just whatever you want in the front to match.
Then proper camber and ensuring your alignment is good is all you can do until you swap over to a proper suspension setup.
Mine failed and caused me to have to replace an engine. I was planning on it anyways but still.
Might as well do them and the timing chains while working on the car. Easy peace of mind.
Before anyone hops in from another thread, yes I was on a transbrake and I am sure that did not help. But...
Bro I love my 2 Mustangs but Ford has nothing coming out to rival the Z06 in performance and value.
Truly the Z06 is finally a real American supercar competitor.
I love the GT500. Its a great looking car with decent numbers. But for 100k you can get a lot of car.
Yes it's literally launch control. What do you mean it does not compare to a 2 step?
The 2 step holds the RPMs at the designated setting and the transbrake allows you to put the car in gear and then load up onto the 2 step?
Without the transbrake the 2 step is not that helpful. Your brakes...
The transbrake doesn't do anything to the RPMs. If you have a transbrake and no 2 step it will simply rev to whatever you throttle it to or blow up.
The 2 step is what attempts to hold the RPM constant. I can see how that would strain the OPGs as it is bouncing off of the edge of that. I just...
I mean that is true for every car and nearly every mechanical piece on a car.
I personally don't see how the OPGs were being stressed any more than normal under the Trans brake and 2 step. Anymore than it would be from foot braking it to 3k.
cats melted and exhaust no longer had anywhere to go. happens under high loads on boosted cars. insane amounts of heat then gets shoved back into the engine and just melts it.
If you are going boosted take the cats off or go NA/low boost and be very aware no long hard pulls or repeated pulls
If you have good E85 near you from the pump it's a no brainer. It's superior in every way from 93.
Burns cooler, cheaper (offset by worse MPG), free power, INSANLY better knock protection. No reason not to run it honestly.
