Resonator will reduce overall noise level but will not eliminate drone.

The part I don't understand is why are you paying so much for labor?

$180-200 is absurd! The most you should be paying is $100, but most people are paying around $75.

I would find another shop or ask a friend who's good with cars.

You are correct SocialMustang, it is expensive but I'm in the north shore of Chicago and everyone is expensive it seems. Midas charged me $130 to do res-delete and $180 to do axle backs. They quoted $200 to reattach stock mufflers
Guess I can try some other shops, just thought Midas would be most competitive and the guys seem cool.

Are you sure about this, it's the American thunders and nothing to do with h-pipe? I'd so my decision is easy, back to stock!
Thanks for help

Some mufflers have drone, some dont. American Thunders have been known for drone going back to the Fox bodies. I have the Borla SType and there is no drone but they are however, pretty loud.

There's tons more r and d in a stock exhaust than any aftermarket exhaust. Whisper quiet and makes good power. Why would you pay to get rid of a finely engineered stock exhaust? They also come free with every mustang purchase.

So true, I have been watching "Best Motoring" videos on Youtube for the past 8 years or so and there is one Pro Driver who is always very skeptical of aftermarket parts.

He believes that usually the high performance well engineered manufacturers have an advantage over the aftermarket when you consider all the things that must be taken into account for a car that need to be driven places other than the race track 100% of the time.

Anyways, I'm thinking the Ford X-Pipe would sound good with the factory mufflers.

Good luck with that setup and let us know how it works out!

Yeah if 400 bucks is too much for you then run away right now from modding. Seriously. I spent thousands of dollars modding motorcycles and cars. What a complete waste of money imo. I learned my lesson thankfully before it was too late. My current mustang is bone stock besides a license plate bracket and tint. Those are my "mods" for the car. Never again.
