What is the max you would pay for a shop to install an Hpipe. Don't have tools or space to install mine. One place quoted me $230. It a mustang performance shop.

$230 to just cut and clamp a already made H pipe? Seems steep. I’d say I wouldn’t pay more than $100 dollars for a H pipe install. Especially since it would only take them probably 20 minutes to do. For $230 they best be welding it.

Mine was welded in for about 50-60 I think it was. Go to any run of the mill muffler shop, it’s not a difficult nor specialty job by any means.

As @Louk said.
It is an easy install so try find a muffler shop nearby or ask if someone with a garage in your area would help you out for a 6-pack :like:

$230 is fair if that includes welding. Good shops charge more, simply because they spend more than the minimum amount of time, especially on things most people don't notice, like the exhaust tips being hung equally and correctly in the valence.

I agree quality work costs more but 230 is rather high for the little work that needs to be done. In all reality it’s a 30 min job, with welding and aligning.
It’s a resonator delete nothing complicated. Some shops get a complex that there name costs a certain amount.
I remember a mustang shop in Michigan wanted to charge me an astronomical amount to put cat deletes and tune my 13. He was so stuck in his ways that he wanted to take off my borlas and install dronemasters because that’s what he liked.

yes some shops are worth the premium but others charge it for absolutely no reason.

I paid $250.00 (which included the price of the X-pipe) for mine at a reputable muffler shop

Does your H pipe require welding or is it a bolt on? I wouldn't pay that much for such a simple job. I had a local muffle shop cut and weld my sons xpipe on for 60 dollars. Did a great job and didn't less than 30 minutes. Mine was a bolt on so I did the cutting and bolting myself.

Paid $40 to have mine installed (cut resonator, bolt up and clamp H pipe and align tips.) It would have cost me more to rent a sawzall for the day and buy the blades. It was done in 25 minutes. Totally worth it - and this is coming from someone who works on cars for a living.

If you have the jackstands and room at your place. I would attempt to do it yourself. 15 minuet install. Shop would probably charge no more than $100 around here.

I just installed a Rousch Performance H-Pipe on my 2020 GT on jack stands. If I had it to do over, I would have disconnected the resonator clamps and the muffler hangers, then dropped the whole cat-back assembly and made those saw cuts on saw horses or my garage floor. Jack stands don’t give you and a sawzall much room to work.

I think mine was $50 to have installed. I didn't feel like messing with it without a lift. The front is clamped and the rear is welded on.

No way I could pay $230 for an h-pipe install. I had mine welded on at Meineke, was $60 iirc.
