6.40. A GT3 is quicker around the ring, and for a less butt puckering price. For that kinda money ... I'd hope it would be faster than a 7 min lap.
Actually I would expect at least a 6:50 ... But congrats to Ford for getting a sub 7min.
Definitely. Hence why I said a 6:50. But yer right, it's probably a pig.I suspect this thing is way heavier than anyone anticipated.
With a ringer no doubt. They’re going back
For sure. If they can shave ~15 seconds off that time, I’d say that’s pretty goodWith a ringer no doubt.
I think 15 seconds would be a good improvement, and would meet the "hype" the car has received to date. For sure. If they can shave ~15 seconds off that time, I’d say that’s pretty good
the chance of getting optimal conditions on that track is .... moderate at best.If I'm not mistaken the first run was in sub-optimal conditions[...]
It will look cool in Jay Leno's garage. For the price and extremely limited run, that's all that matters. ZR1 is the real deal, it will be all time great. The Mustang platform is hindering its performance. I love the GTD, it’s such a cool car, but you aren’t going to be top of the heap at the ring in a car based off of this platform, it’s just not possible without an already exorbitant cost. The 2025 ZR1 is going to smash the GTD at a reduced price to the tune of roughly $125K less.
At the end of the day they have to base this around two large lumps of metal. The steel chassis and crash structure of the S650 including it's heavy doors and a variant of the Predator 5.2.6.40. A GT3 is quicker around the ring, and for a less butt puckering price.
Ford has some work to do. I suspect this thing is way heavier than anyone anticipated.
