The big takeaway for me is the near universal acclaim for its public road manners. Particularly the reduced tram lining. Ford picked the right target audience for this car and I think if you can get one it’s a clear win. 80% of GTD owners sell these for more than they paid in a few short years.

At a Mustang Club Show in Hiawassee, GA yesterday, I finally got to see a GTD in person. The owner told me about the interview process and the video he had to submit. He indicated he had it delivered on August 31st, and did plan to take it to Road Atlanta.
He also indicated that he drove it to the show, as opposed to trailering it.

Nice car… I think the “interview“ process is hilarious, but it’s good psychological marketing. The video? kinda reminds me of when my college buddy first tried online dating and called to tell me about it.

rave reviews from all the cars and coffee street driving folks, laugh out loud. The car can't own up to its namesake. Grand Touring DAYTONA.
I've seen a fair amount of reviews from track folks who also say it's great.

But to your point, it's great, but not for very long.
It's like supplying a fire hose with a water bottle...

And that's the point. For what I'm using it for, its no better than the GT500 that runs into fuel issues on 16 minutes

The active dampers have a lot to do with this car. They can yield track performance, as well as decent streetability. They fitted a set to one of their NGT test cars (back a couple years ago), and I heard was a huge upgrade over the "normal" spool valve DSSV dampers.

A short video about them

Went to "Fuel Good Friday" with my 11-year old and a buddy from work, hosted by Aeromotive Performance Parts in Lenexa, KS.

A GTD showed up a few minutes after us, driver put it in Neutral and gave it a few revs before parking. Needless to say, the mob crowded around it. As many have mentioned, car is MASSIVE in person and commands presence. Also saw a Grabber Blue GT500 KR pulling in, parked next to it when I saw an opening.

Saw this today

Edit: my sales guy and I were unsure of the color. It’s not Rapid Red or Ruby Red. We believe it’s Redfire Metallic but the window sticker was locked in the car. This is the owner of the dealer group’s GTD (same guy that is selling his Carbon Edition GT). This particular dealership is taking delivery of 2 other GTD’s, so pretty cool that one dealer in western suburbs of Chicago is taking delivery of 3 GTD’s.

Wow, that is gorgeous!
It’s a really cool color. It’s almost got some bronze or gold to it. I’m trying to remember what Redfire looked like in person, it was a late SN/early S197 color so it’s been a minute

That color^ is called Chroma Flame
My guy is going to find out and let me know. In person it looks darker than the pictures of Chroma Flame that I’ve seen. Could be the dealership lighting that makes it look darker too
