It’s not to bad, but suggest with a couple well targeted posts we could really get this going in the crapper.

Does anybody know anybody that’s received(ordered) an actual delivery date. I’m real curious to see what those times are. My 25 450 is at between 7-8 months now and showing in the shipping stage. I’d imagine the truck side to be more consistent then the Gtd.

That ship has sailed my friend 🤣

I think we figured they would be producing somewhere around 500 cars per year (I think buried way back at the beginning of this thread). If the first 10 are currently in production (and I’m guessing those are reserved for Mr. Ford and other high profile figures), late spring or early summer would be my wild ass guess. Would be interesting to hear if anyone on here has any of the earlier deliveries. Might poke around YouTube and see what some of the higher profile tubers are saying. Schmee comes to mind as I would venture to guess he’s getting one fairly early to showcase in his channel

Keep in mind the 450 is line built at a Ford plant. The GTD body and drivetrain is built at Ford and then shipped to Multimatic for their suspension and tuning (as I understand it) so there will most likely be delays due to unforeseen issues, build backlogs, etc.

Just to be clear, my understanding is that the "body" is a mere shell, even less so than a body in white. I asked and was told they are shipped to Multimatic with no roof panel in place either. So Multimatic has a ton of work to do to ready the body to ready it for the driveline and suspension.

Does that leave open the possibility of a carbon fiber roof for some weight savings? As far as safety standards, it can’t be any different (and maybe slightly better) than ragtops for verts.

That is indeed the reason why.

I'm also hearing the GTD may avoid the tariff but I'll wait to say anything else so that Road and Track doesn't credit Reddit for another poorly researched story...

Haha frickin R&T…

That’s way cool regarding the carbon roof. So, is that enormous curb weight that we’ve all now seen with a cf roof or with a steel roof?

This what I figured. If an ordered 450 has a production time of basically nine plus months I just can't see the Gtd's being done quicker.

From the NYT...

"The administration said the 25 percent tariff would apply to both cars and car parts made in Canada and Mexico, despite the U.S. trade agreement signed with those nations. It created a small exception to those levies, saying any content or materials that originated in the United States but were incorporated into cars finished in Canada and Mexico would be exempt."
