If you mean having high rear arches (they all do), or short wheelbase (they all do) or a pair of headlights and four wheels…then yes they look alike. Otherwise I see no resemblance.

I highly doubt you couldn’t pick out the Mustang if I parked both of them right next to each other and covered the badges. Come on now…
Agreed, it kept a lot of the S550 styling cues. It still boggles my mind regarding the Camaro comparisons.

Nothing is amortized over 25 years. The initial cost of acquisition is still there wether it’s an outright purchase, or a payment plan. I’ll leave alone what it costs to actually produce the molds, there usefull life(how many pops), the shop, facility, environmental side, skilled labor(high level for proper finished product), material, etc. I’m not referring to what comes out of China on a subpar level, but what oem’s require from a tier one supplier. I actually did lots of glass work in a previous life. Everything from minor molds to full on layups. Chopper guns, hand layups, and vacuum bagged, been there done that. None of it is inexpensive even on a simplistic scale. It’s also very difficult to produce a part, tub, hull, whatever at a high level consistently. No supplier or manufacturer is producing at a 3-6% margin. Especially in a situation where 1-2000 units may get produced and for an end use like a Gtd. It is what it is. The Gtd will go through all the certifications of any new model which will include the crash testing. If you get to see one(Gtd) in person, there’s no similarities to a Gt. About the only thing that is recognizeable is the roof, doors and dash(Interior parts). The Gtd makes the Gt look like a toy in a lot of respects. Pics just don’t do it justice in how big of a car it really is. It’s ironic to because my cftp make my vert gt seem small and its only barely wider, unlike the Gtd which is a big ….. . A Gtd is not 90% a Gt, any more then a 350 is or a 500. They simply are not the same cars. Gt’s are great cars, but they’re simply not like the others, especially the Gtd.
Check financials of Ford and GM etc for their net margin....then look at ferrari

I'm serious, everytime I see a S650 on the road I think I'm seeing a Camaro at first look.

Please stop with your common sense, or comparing two platforms of cars around here, they will pretend like they can't comprehend what you're saying and call you a troll lol. It would seem that this day and age it's impossible to have a constructive conversation about the good and bad between 2 similar cars.

I like to disassemble things.
I saw the Farley podcast where he said all that and then checked a VIN I know of for a GTD that falls within the first ten in production. Some of the modules were loaded (but not all) meaning that the car is indeed being built. I don't think any will be done prior to the Canadian tariff taking effect though.

I’ll be curious to see how Mr. Ford specs his (assuming they release that info). I assume he got first choice as to any 1 of 1 color available.

Regarding the tariffs, considering the Detroit auto manufacturers (and Ford specifically as it relates to this particular car) rely on Canadian locations for some parts/assembly, I wonder if they continue to lobby hard and get that can kicked down the road a bit. I will keep my general tariff thoughts reserved for another place and time, but there are more downsides than some want to realize or admit.

Anyway, we’ll see what the pricing impacts are and if that impacts anyone’s decision to take delivery or pass and move on to something else.

As to the Gtd. I’d be surprised if they’re in place for long. It would be devastating for Canada(Multi-matic and other mnaufacturers) if they’re prolonged. The auto manufacturers will move those plants back to the US when those numbers make sense. The Gtd is a very small production in the scale of Ford, but that extra %25 will for sure hurt sales. It’ll make the base car 400k plus, and it’s not a 400k plus car any day of the week. Even as cool as it is. I’m sure glad I pushed mine to 26 to let stuff kind of shake out.

Whatever. I’m not going to muck up Tom’s thread arguing the merits of tariffs.
