as the title says, i took the catback system of a GT500, cut off the mufflers, and put them on my EcoBoost.
it's a lot more difficult than you would think, but it works fairly well

(yes, i know i need to clean it)
i bought the diffuser, and the mufflers are warranty parts from work that Ford deemed scrap
about how it sounds, it's not louder, but it has a deeper tone to it, and now there's pops on every exhaust mode except quiet

my dad helped me a lot installing everything, i used 2 2.5" to 2.75" inner adapters with 2 2.25" clamps and 2 2.75" clamps

How were you able to procure the “scrap warranty” parts? Local classifieds, online part outs, or just lucky to have a hook up at the local dealer?

Nice job :like:

As you have active exhaust just be careful - your tailpipe’s look to protrude a bit more than the stock fitment which will increase the risk of damaging the loom (even standard fitment can damage the loom) :

yeah, the fitment still needs work, and a lot of it
it was such a hassle to get the system in place that my dad and i called it good enough for now, though
it's almost as if the vehicle wasn't designed to have this system

If it helps, I shortened my active exhaust with H pipe by about 16mm total when I fitted the H after my standard system had started to rub.

I made the ‘perfect’ cut, then shortened the cut and the front of the H pipe by about 8mm each.

Right side loom off the standard system had just started to rub :

Before (standard system / standard fitment on the right) v after (modified with H) :

Loom clearance after the mod :

Good job with the conversion.

What type of snags did you run into when trying to swap the lower valances, etc? Did you have to modify the cat-forward at all?

the diffuser was very easy to install, just 3 7mm bolts on either side, plus 4 more in the middle, but the mounting of the part under the reverse light is different, so i have parts coming to fix that and for now it's just hanging freely, but there's been no issues because of it.
no modding of the cat, downpipe, or even the Y pipe was needed, but some fine tuning will need to be done, so nothing is final just yet.

Cool idea, looks good. If you have some clear silicone and gorilla tape you can fix up that harness. The silicone will stop the body from rubbing through the wires. The gorilla tape is another layer of protection

JFC, could we work some bailing wire in the mix somewhere just to make it as Hill-Billie as possible? To fix it properly would mean cutting and reterminating the connector, but it's nearly impossible to find those connectors. They aren't DTM's or Weatherpak's.

There's a short jumper harness from the car main harness to the mufflers. You need to go buy a replacement. I think they're about $50.
