I haven't said anything to anyone yet, but I've forwarded your situation and Minn's to someone at Ford that I know. Just seeing what they say and going from there.Minn19 thanks for posting your story. I'm going to add this thread to my list of GT350 drivetrain problem threads. Even though you have your car and still get to use and "enjoy" it, I find your situation worse than my own. I can't believe Ford is fine with you spending your own time and money monitoring oil consumption! FWIW, I monitored my oil closely before and after my car's first change (that I did myself around 1k miles). I didn't notice any oil consumption until 2500~3229 (when my oil pump failed) miles. After 2200~ miles on my first oil change, the dipstick went from the full mark to a few mm above the low mark. I was actually going to just watch it and then change the oil once I got around 3k miles on that change, but now my car is [allegedly] getting a new engine.
Thanks for the post. I dropped it off last night so I actually don't have it anymore. The accelerating oil usage (it was nearing the bottom of the stick after 500ish miles now) coupled with the recall, I decided to drop it back off. There is no way I could enjoy it with this going on. It's a shame since it looks like this could be the last good weekend of the year here weather wise.Minn19 thanks for posting your story. Thanks, I do appreciate any help I can get at this point. I have a couple of things I'm trying before my last resort of lemoning it. I've tried calling Ford Customer Service back a few times now and havent gotten a call back. They said the manager of my regional rep was going to call me back "by the end of business day" yesterday and guess what......no call back or anything. I'm really not surprised anymore unfortunately.I haven't said anything to anyone yet, but I've forwarded your situation and Minn's to someone at Ford that I know. Thank you! Feel free to PM me if necessary. Thank You!Good luck with your engine replacement and congrats on the wedding
Funny/sad thing is, is that I wasn't even that upset or pissed off about the situation until I talked to my regional rep. It is quite clear that Ford is going into full damage control mode to protect itself. At least to me it is. Even if they get back to you, I wouldn't expect much. Hopefully it will be different for you, but I highly doubt it.Thank you! Feel free to PM me if necessary. There are others too that haven't shared publicly. I'm not going to mention who they are or the specific issues they've had.
Thank You!
Regarding lemon law, I've thought about seeing a lawyer but my situation doesn't even come close to qualifying for lemon law (I never thought TX would have such strict guidelines on anything, go figure). I figure it's a waste of time/money for me to do that. I guess I'm just looking at 10-15k loss on selling/trading the car at this point. I may keep it and try to get a few months of use in it and hope it doesn't have any more issues, and sell it in the spring to spread out that depreciation over more months/miles. We'll see...
Also, I've called and emailed (3 emails) my regional Ford Service rep and she hasn't gotten back to me since 10/13. I'm sure I could get ahold of her if I called more frequently but I decided last week at least to not think about this car bullshit and enjoy my vacation/wedding. This week, I'm not finding the motivation to call her, call the dealer, or even go to the dealer and complain or see my car. It's not worth my time.
Agreed, and thank you! Unfortunately I'm already back to reality/work. Due to more important and serious issues in our lives (health), my car and it's problems are the least of my wife and I's worries. We've postponed a "honeymoon" and just came back home. Next year will be a happier year, hopefully!Funny/sad thing is, is that I wasn't even that upset or pissed off about the situation until I talked to my regional rep. I think it's obviously a good idea to try and put it out of your head as much as possible and just concentrate on your wedding/vacation. I know it's hard to do, but there is nothing you can really do about now so try and not let wreck the big day. There'll plenty of time to do that when you get back. ;)
It sounds like they will have your car fixed soon but you might still call a lemon law attorney to get their take. What's on the Texas DVM Lemon Law webpage doesn't really make sense. Their 30 days test requires two repair attempts in the first twelve months. Going by that rule, a car could languish at the dealership for 11.9 months and still not quality for lemon law.Regarding lemon law, I've thought about seeing a lawyer but my situation doesn't even come close to qualifying for lemon law (I never thought TX would have such strict guidelines on anything, go figure). Thank you, I too found the TX guidelines posted online to be a bit odd.It sounds like they will have your car fixed soon but you might still call a lemon law attorney to get their take. It could be that what's posted on the Texas DMV website isn't the actual requirements. Other states, such as California advertise a more straightforward 30 days or more :

•The car has been out of service for 30 days or more for repair to warranty problems.
Hey Jason,I first noticed the issue around 3000 miles and since then it has become worse.
I read your post wrong. Sorry for being an ass.Wow!
Really!
I think you are taking this a little personal. I'm not calling you a liar. I'm saying it's hard to believe and they tell you they couldn't find the problem.
Buddy
Thanks for the heads up. I figured as much that it wouldn't get a new one. I guess it doesn't really matter anymore since it won't be a numbers matching car anymore anyway.Minn19 assuming you get a replacement engine someday, just a heads up, you won't get a new "built-by" plaque: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1570554&postcount=208
