By the way, they told me there are no long blocks available and they have no ETA when they will be.
Your car's troubles sound way more frustrating then what I went through, sorry!! What I would say is that several of us were told the same thing about engines not being available, but as soon as I opened a case with my regional Ford Service customer rep, a new engine was found and shipped to my dealer. Have you gone this route yet? You can contact Ford's 800 customer service number and they'll open a case for you, then your regional rep will call you. Or you could try PMing the FordService account here on the forum. I can't remember if you said you contacted them yet, sorry if you already have! Good luck

Thanks and no problem, I know it's hard to keep up with these threads. I opened a case with them about a month ago. I talked to my regional rep once and she reiterated that the fix would take a while/possibly spring. Her manger called back yesterday and said they needed to wait for the results of the tear down to proceed with anything. So, I guess I'll see if he calls back with info soon or not.

... Just to recap, this is after I was told initially/roughly 6 weeks ago that I needed a new engine. Then was told I wasn't getting a new engine because the new one would do the same thing and I needed to wait until possibly spring for a fix to the issue.
seems unlikely a new engine will do the same thing otherwise they would have to stop production.

... Now suddenly, they've supposedly identified the problem was between certain dates and this new engine will fix the oil usage problem. I know companies (mine included) have dysfunctional communication between departments etc, but I feel I'm being played here and I'm not sure why or by who. Could this new info be true? Sure, but I have doubts due to the many different stories that have changed rapidly.
New info sounds more true than the previous info of having to wait until Spring for a fix.

I tend to agree with both of your points, which is why I don't understand all of the previous BS.

Jason, my new engine seems to be consuming oil. I'll be watching it closely after my first oil change coming up next weekend.

I'm interested in knowing what oil you all are using. And, have any of you actually checked the oil after the oil change (I mean this towards the owners that have the dealer or someone else changing it for you) some people are ignorant that the voodoo uses 10 quarts unlike the 5.0 using 8. Maybe they are not filling it up to the correct capacity. I never had good faith in motorcraft Oils. If this is what you are using try another brand and see if the consumption changes. This will not void your warranty as long as you use the correct grade.

I just checked my oil after 900 miles since the first change at 1000 and its about 1-1.5mm over the low dot on the stick.

Did you do the oil change or someone else?
Did you check it immediately after the oil change was performed?
I have a feeling some of these are not being filled to the proper level. As a mechanic myself it wouldn't be the first time I seen this happen.

Sorry to hear this. I am/was skeptical when FP came back and said they fixed this issue after such and such date. This was after two months of telling me there was no fix for this issue. They won't tell me what that date range is either.

Keep an eye on it. If it goes down the same road as mine it will get worse with more miles.

Also, they have yet to tell me when an engine will be available. They keep telling me they are on backorder.

I confirmed mine after dealer oil change. I watched them do the entire thing and they put in the correct amount and type of oil.

Also, it has been confirmed to be filled to the top of the line many times by my dealer and myself.

Yes after the oil change it showed full.

I used race ramps, the car was tilted at an angle and all the oil was drained properly. I added exactly 10 quarts of oil.

But you both used motorcraft oil?

I also dont baby my car at all, multiple redlines per day once the oil temp reaches 190F. Never let it sit when cold, always drive off and try and keep the revs at 3500 rpm.

Its not my first naturally aspirated high revving gas guzzler car. I think this motor just burns too much oil.
