2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Bought the premiumcare out to 2025 when I purchased new. After that I will have had too much fun to worry any longer.

I have no concerns or worry about my engine. My dealer supports a lifetime powertrain warranty (well technically million mile/hundred year) for this car anyway. Don't mod the power train and your fine. Don't put non-recommended fuel in it. Engine problems can happen to any car, but seems very rare here. Remember, you don't hear much from the vast majority that never have an issue. No reason to post "hey it's all great here!".
TBH I'm very tempted to throw an e85 tune on my new 350. But I hear Ford is more strict with any Shelby that comes in for warranty work opposed to the Mustang GT..

Anyone tune there car and gotten a new engine in their 350 ? Any stories of getting denied? (except that YT chic who was probably denied more because of her fame on YT than anything else)

Being that a FP Coyote is around $8k and a FP Voodoo is north of $18K, I would expect Ford would be more selective on warranty repairs and replacements.

I wonder if they check what was tuned or changed when denying or approving repairs. Someone on FB just got a new 350 engine, had headers, new exhaust with a 93oct tune, ford approved it, makes you wonder.

It sounds like they do check, but for a car that's designed from the factory to make use of 100 octane race gas I can see them not having a huge problem with a 93 tune. Who knows it probably depends on the mood of the engineer that day.

There were a couple of members here with tunes that had their engines go South and were replaced. I think those threads have been deleted for obvious reasons. It’s your gamble.

I think you are really gambling if you do a tune with these cars. Yes, some have had Ford replace it, but it's just as easy for them to deny it too. Not worth the minimal gains. Only way I would run a tune is if I went Supercharger/Turbo and then I would do it right and beef up the engine and oiling system. Have someone like Fathouse do it.

Do you use a 6 inch deep socket for those lug nuts?

How do you feel about the clutch holding up? How much does one of those setups cost? Thanks

right now it’s holding up but i don’t plan on leaving that stock for long
i plan to upgrade to Mcleod clutch and mgw short throw shifter and well as some Bmr suspension components very soon.

absolutely true, guy had a bill for 34k for engine replacement that the warranty covered, certainly not worth it unless you go big ... or go home.

Is this really true? I saw dyno sheets showing gains of like 30-40 hp over 93octane when running 100oct race gas , but wasn't sure. Never saw or heard of ford allowing the extra timing and couldnt find anything really online officially.

I hear you... but does everybody really just leave these cars alone and 100% stock? I’ve promised myself with every mustang I’ve had, ok no mods this time! yeah whatever...
My only planned Mods are getting rid of the prop rod with struts, and maybe a new shift ball, and if i track it enough a bolt in harness bar. There really is no need to upgrade anything....anything more than the 500 - 550 hp range is a waste on a road course, or street. The suspension is great...maybe if you wanted camber plates for the front I guess. The aero is great. I love the exhaust...i see no reason to change it either. Lastly, the brakes are awesome.
