I think the majority on this thread would agree that GT350R owners might drive their hot rods for free when they decide to let it go . Most car buyers would doubt any salesman that would tell them “ if you buy this car from me , in five years from now it will be worth the same or more than you paid for it”? There was over 2,300 1966 Shelby GT 350’s sold to the public . I bought one for 29,500 and sold it for 168 after 23 years of ownership.

I'm not sure about anything - there's really no way to know. I've posted a list of things that could move the future values up or down before...but all of them are variables and there's just no way to know.

All I can say is that I'll be happy regardless - I like driving the car. An added bonus would be if I didn't take a COMPLETE BATH on the value of the car in the future, like I usualy do with all my other cars, lol. Anything less than depreciation to nearly zero is technically a win in the car market.

Bkd and find out.
Not suggesting that all eBay bids are legitimate but do know that the two bidders up to the $110,000 price point on this particular vehicle were legitimate based on a telephone conversation today but after that point I cannot comment on.

Thanks for the help!! To everyone wondering what's going on I'm actually going to be selling about a dozen of my cars including LR001. I didn't intend to sell it on ebay just figured I would throw it on and see what happens. I have 12 cars going to Mecum in Indy due to no more space!! If any of you know me you know I have quite a few cars and a lot of #1s from shelby. I'm sad about the situation but I can't have all non drivers as that's pretty much all I have so time to clear some room for some daily drives. For any who don't understand #s. 1's aren't ever supposed to go to the public as Bill Ford has every other #1 R in his collection. Covid just made for different times otherwise these cars wouldn't be for sale for years unless it was a charity sale. As you can see my driver is the Heritage in front of LR001 and that car is LR005. I've been contemplating on getting another building to try and keep all but my wife is not having it!!! She's says my car addiction will just keep going and I will need another building after that one and so on. If anyone has any questions just ask me. Im on here and will be. Thanks again, Mike

If you are the owner can you explain the bid history going on? It all seems like a scam. You have the same people outbidding themselves within 20 seconds. None of it makes sense.

I can't speak for other bidders. But I know everyone gets notified whenever they are outbid. My guess is they are trying to find out where the reserve is. This is LR001. Not 10 or 20. Thanks, Mike

Let's not get carried away here... It's 001 for 2020. Not the first GT350R ever made... and not the last one. Since when is the first car of a specific model year that collectable without being the first overall? A 2015 just sold for a lot less than the current bid right now. Also there are reports that you just acquired the car, which means this is a flip. Why would you put this on Ebay where all bids are non binding?

The weird bidding, the crazy reserve, the buy it now price.... just seems weird bro. But if this is legit and you actually get 140K+ from this car then that is great for the overall market of the GT350R.

Well Maybe you should ask around before making assumptions. Why don't you ask the guy who has the heritage and ask how much he will let it go for. He turned down offers of 250k. And if you call him today and offer 400k he will turn it down also. I'm sorry that you don't understand #1s and how there value works.

400K? That's ridiculous bro.

You didn't answer my two questions.

Also I understand #1's just fine. You don't have the first GT350R. You don't have the last one. You don't have a special edition like a Heritage, base, or 2015. This is also like your 3rd post on this site. It just doesn't add up.

Mike, since you have a good grasp on firsts” and they’re higher values. Out of 95 initial Pre production GT350R/GT350R’s ;Ford only kept and sold three to the public 1 tech GT350, 1 track pkg GT350 AND 1 GT350R. . I have the only GT350R ( chassis PP011)built 5/26/2015 that has its own video at the Chicago Auto show; built about two months before the famous 37 -2015 GT350R’s . These cars were delivered to diversified systems technologies ” DST” for a special seven stage tear down paint correction that the manager at DST told me cost between 60 to $100,000 sometimes .Any ideas 💡 or opinions of possible values?

As the man said, this is 001 and I dont recall 001 going to the public new any other time. I hope you get every penny.

Everyone has an opinion and I'm no different. I dont care about the value because I dont see myself selling my R. (Ive said that before but whatever I make will be spent on divorce lawyers) I wanted the car because of the heritage. Its an R. I harken back to the 93, the 95 and the 2000R. The 65 Model was always the GT350 Comp car (although the R stuck, it didn't get that name until long after the car was discontinued). And that will remain a draw for a while and will hold value. It will be collectable but Money, no clue. But then again, Ill never see from it

Tim,

That is a awesome and very rare car!! I would say off of the top of my head between 150k to 400k

Very nice car!! Very rare also!!
Whats the mileage on the car? I'm guessing has a few miles being a pp car? Rough guess would be 150k.

The "LR001" chassis plate is a very interesting scenario since there are two 2020 GT350R's which come with the same chassis plate with the September, 2019 built car coming with a Red badge and the February car coming with a Blue badge.

Obviously the September assembled 2020 GT350R was 1 of the ~420 R's built as a regular production R model with the February 2020 GT350R coming with the HEP option and is 1 of ~279 cars built and believe it was assembled in February, 2020.

Personally if I had a choice between the two 2020 R's with chassis "LR001" it would not take me long to choose and would take the HEP in a heart beat.

As you mentioned to have the first regular R model assembled for the 2020 MY that would be pretty cool but certainly not even close to being in the same league as "F0001" which was the first 2015 R built back in early July 2015.

Of course the bookend to "F0001" will be "LR280" (just my guess for the last 2020 HEP chassis number) which I suggest will be the very last 2020 R model assembled at the FRAP after 6 production years with that car going to the same owner namely Bill Ford.

Not sure where the bidding will end up for the September car which certainly has surpassed my expectations but in any event I wish the consignor the best of luck!

PS: Keep in mind that the very earliest 2020 GT350 built to the best of my knowledge was assembled back on May 23rd, 2019 (TT005) which I suggest was built 4 months ahead of "LR001".

Wonder what that car will bring down the road?
