A phone call from the dealer this morning resulted is a slightly extended lunch break and the chance to unwrap it ... :sunglasses:

My brothers phone (Samsung) seems to capture the colour a little better :

Beautiful colour.

The grin you had when you first saw it will not fade now, hopefully for many years of happy Mustang ownership :like:

Does remind me though, that I forever wish I had sent mine straight to my detailer, after coming off the transporter.

I didn't, and mistakenly let the dealership do the unwrapping, fit number plates, asked them to be stuck on, but when I collected the car, found they had drilled the number plates, and car to fit them on.

When it did get to the detailer he had to do a full paint correction, (5 days worth the paint was in such bad a condition) as dealership had obviously attempted to wash it, most likely with a scouring pad, or maybe wire wool.

He then fitted the PPF and did a full ceramic coating, including engine bay and wheels etc.

Highly recommended things to do, to protect your car and keep i at its very best looking.

Nice! Did you "break in" the tires leaving the dealership?

Congratulations! You must have the same feeling I had when I picked up my Focus RS. I had wanted an RS since I was in high school. They never came to the USA (until 2016). We used to only see them in magazines!

Now as soon as you get your feet back on the ground we are all hoping you can figure out the exhaust tips you were working on!

All those black accents are going to really make that Green pop.

Thanks for the comments everyone :like:

@Entai - The dealer has been good up to now, they’ve followed to the letter all the instructions I gave them - including doing nothing until I had been to see it (including leaving all the muddy footprints in the drivers footwell ...). They know about the plates and encouraged me to remove the plinth from the boot to be sure (see picture below). The only prep to the outside is to be a power wash, I will do the rest upon receipt.

@MAD MATT - It’s still there ... I was hoping for a pickup next Thursday as I have the family car up on axle stands next week for wheel refurb / new tyres / new disks and pads all round and I’m taking the opportunity to paint the bells and callipers etc. Got some custom wheel graphics coming from Anchor Room too  The black bits on the mustang should look good, especially those vents you sent :like:

@cosmic charlie - yeah I’ve not forgot, got a few other things on my plate first though ... :cwl:

Anyhow, here’s what I rescued from the car :

I’ve had to encapsulate some of the decals and the paper one on the rear window couldn’t be saved.

Anyone know what the red thing is ? I assume it’s to limit movement of something during shipping ?

We do have a slight snag ... It’s off to the body shop tomorrow to see what they can do with two small areas of paint damage on the front bumper ... :frown:

Congratulations, looks great
I did the same going to dealer to unwrap and inspect. Did exactly what I wanted by not fitting the number plate plinth and not doing ANY cleaning at all so I could take it to my work and detail it all weekend
Hope the paint work on front bumper is sorted ok

Ah! So it's finally arrived.
Bet it was a relief to see your actual car at the dealer.

Roll on, collection day.
Xmas comes early, for you this year.
Enjoy.

An exciting day, for sure!

The sheet on the top right is the Build Sheet......a nice little keepsake along with the window sticker :)

I know someone who orders their Mustangs and his dealer knows not to prep it. He keeps all the plastic on the seats, stickers on the windows, and everything (no cleaning)... FOREVER. He will show up at Cars and Coffees with these cars that look like they just rolled off the line.

I am pretty sure the red tool is for maintaining the turboencabulator.

I did wonder if it was a gas pedal restrictor to keep the transport guys in order - hence why it had been removed and thrown in the passenger footwell ... :cwl:

No, you are one of the winners. You bring that back to the dealer and they give you one of these:

Well it’s looking a little sorry for itself at the moment ... :crying:

But every cloud has a silver lining ...

So I took advantage of the front end being off the car to do a few mods. I was a little nervous but managed it without a slip, scratch or paint chip :

I didnt want to break pins or glue the badge in so I sourced some stainless fasteners :

Defo going to need a bigger bath once the car arrives :cwl: :
