I have a write up, but short story it always chugged during low rpm’s through 35-40mph zones (doesn’t matter which gear I am in), exhaust tips are always black and based on my logs it’s very rich, not to mention other little irritations. The Prochargers canned tune was better for drivability where as PBD has good WOT performance. I had roughly eight revision until it was deemed good; but it was never great.

I did send PBD an email a week ago to see if they’d take another look -I’m still waiting.
New member here, I ve been waiting on PBD since early december '22 to no avail. I had a new edge tuned by PBD Ken (over 5 yrs ago) and he is a genius however I think they prioritize the gt500 platform and I believe Ken isnt tuning as before. Ive decided to move on and really considering "Wengered Performance" I have a 2016 5.0 performance pack with a stage 2 Procharger. Ive sent Daryl tons of emails and he replies readily fast. I am thinking about adding the FIC 1000cc, relocate the MAF with the gt350 chargepipe and pulley down to a 4.63 griptec and gates hd belt. Any input on my plans would be highly appreciated šŸ‘

Welcome! That's odd that PBD hasn't returned your messages, I can still get a message back within a day so keep trying (if you want to go that route). Also make sure you check your spam folder since I ran into that issue once before.

Tuner wise… There’s a lot of good ones. But being in Florida I would stick with a local tuner – PBD or even VMP; if you want to throw your car on the dyno. I did my due diligence and had my fair share of ups and downs with tuners but after speaking with a few about my current situation they all pointed at my MAF placement; again, I was having awful low mph drivability. Luckily talking with Rob, he advised me to change some parts out and he’d throw me another tune.

I am currently in the process of doing that now as well as adding a larger pump, smaller pulley (3.6ā€ 10-11psi), added a Tial BOV, and installing my Kook long tubes, in additional to the MAF replacement. So in my eyes he’s going to give me a retune even though it isn’t a whole new tune. Saves me money and shows the PBD isn’t all about greed. If this fixes all my problems I’ll make sure to update prior posts of mine.

As far as Wengered Performance, I only know as much as I've watch on Youtube and I could be extremely wrong but they don't seem to make good power with centri's; but others, like Whipple's and VMP's Odin, they do. Weird right... Different superchargers I suppose. Either way, I don't think you'll pick wrong. I would probably call PBD and talk with Ken, tell him that he tuned your car back in the day if he'd be willing to tune yours again. He could just be the face of the company now, so who knows...

FIC1000's is a good value that's what I'm running and I know PBD can tune them but most do push for the more expensive ID1050x's. What size blower do you have? If you have a P1X with a dedicated belt and a 4.63" pulley, that seems somewhat large... My buddy got his kit with a 4.5" and runs that on 91 octane + booster. I want to say he's nearing 12psi at 8k (he doesn't go that high all the time), and like 10psi around 7500. So I feel you could go less than the 4.63" figuring you have 93 octane. Now if you have a dedicated 8-rib you don't need a griptec pulley- you have more than enough belt wrap; the griptecs are meant for for Vortech/Paxton, VMP, etc... with setups using the stock HB with the 6-rib. I don't remember where I read it but going from a 6-rib to an 8-rib was something like 33% more grip. I'm no expert but maybe once you start pushing 14+ psi and on E85 I would look into it.

I have a P1sc1 stage 2 8 rib with a BAP, 52lb bosch inj and magnaflow exhaust everything else is stock. Car was built by Ford 707 performance with now 10k miles car is brand new performance pack. Yea, I had a lot of email communication with PBD and with one specific sales cat who was very helpful but just dropped off and could never get me a dyno appointment (begging isnt in my nature my bro) Ive been following closely VPS Racing which work with a ton of mustangs and have an in house dyno, MAK performance has communicated well and straightforward and lastly, Lujan Motorsports which he is great and recently serviced my car (oil, proch oil and ngk spark) Lujan works with Lund but some reason I am liking Wengered from what I am hearing. Also, Lund sends to tunes based on similiar configurations, i guess they all do (maybe) the fic 1000 have been a go with most tuners. I just wanna maximize what I have now to its full potential. Btw, FIC 1000 are going for $638 bought them on feb 18. šŸ‘šŸ‘Š

Sounds like you have a plan. Try Wengered Performance and see what comes out of it. I’m not sure what your goal is but you should have a good low 600 wheel setup.

Would love 700 but I know I am limited less I switch over to E85 which not wanting to do so at the moment. Let's see what comes out of this. (I am waiting on my parts - FIC 1000, griptec pulley, gates belt hd and the gt350 maf reloc charge pipe with new maf oem sensor to tie it all together) the other important factor is the drivability and how the power is configured by the Tuner that makes all this come together. As the car stands, I feel the car drives great but have no idea who its tuned by or the power it makes as I am not the original owner. Kinda wanna start from scratch and see if it can be improved on. This is not a cheap hobby as we all know šŸ˜©šŸ˜†

I'm shooting for that 700 figure as well, so I know the struggle... And you're right, it isn't a cheap hobby.

late to the party here, but you can also get three 55 gallon drums of e85 on one pallet for a whole lot less…

…that’s how I ran my VR4 not long ago 😬

My wife would love the idea of 150 gallons of gas in the garage! She gives me grief about the 2 gallon can I have for my backpack blower.

Oh Vr4’s, I had three 3000GT’s - love and hate relationship with those 6G72DETTs.

After looking harder, I think I found an E85 nearby, could be a game changer based on what everyone's stating above.
All the Meijers have E85 here in Michigan. Not sure about where you are tho but it’s worth checking.
