I saw "Getting old sucks" and immediately clicked thinking it was some words of wisdom or maybe a story about not being able to change your wheels by yourself.

Warning ⚠ label next time please.

Sorry you're dealing with that. Get well soon. 🙏🏻

As it's been noted, getting old can be challenging, but us octogenarians just have to "tough it out"...after some 75 years of trouble free operation my old ass started to demand medical attention, a heart attack, a tripple bypass, cataract surgery (on both eyes) and blood clot mitigation in my right lung...however I still drive my boosted Bullitt and plan to do so until I'm 100+ God willing.[

...
Actually, I think we have no excuses because "we should know better by now."

So I went to the dermatologist in late March. They checked out my moles etc. and biopsied one on my chest. She also saw what I have been told since I was a kid was a birthmark on the arch of my left foot. I told her it had been looked at many times and was told it was nothing to worry about...it's just a birthmark. She took a pic of it and sent it off to have her partner look at it. 3 days later I get a call saying I'd better be safe than sorry and to come in and get it biopsied as well. 2 weeks later I get a call from her saying....there's good and bad news. The bad.....It's Melanoma....the good.....it hasn't spread. So since April 1st......3 surgeries.....one skin graft and I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY MACh1 in almost 2 1/2 MONTHS!!! I got the stiches removed last week and should be able to walk without crutches June 15th! My wife's GT/CS convert is nice, but I miss the left foot thingy !!! :fingerscrossed:

Some of us remember the slogan: Keep on Truckin'. Good advice.

Yes, getting old sucks. And as someone already said: It beats the alternative!!
I've had a round or 2 with Big C. They let my wife into the room before they closed up the golf ball sized hole in the side of my head. No pictures, but I will not forget the look on her face.
Friends always used to say "getting old sucks" but I say "being old sucks". I have to remind my wife that we're not "getting old", but we're old already.

LOL, I think if you can do it go for it. At 74 I am not on any meds and the only time I see a Dr. is my annual physical. I still do all my work on my cars. I just put in a new Calimer stage 2 transmission and Mcleod twin ceramic disc aluminum flywheel clutch
system, new pilot bearing, LTH. MBRP exhaust, mounting and balancing wheels and tires. I am not as fast, but I get the job done.

I had hernia surgery yesterday so I’m jacked up on OxyContin today. No driving for a few more days. I’ve had broken bones, bone grafts, tendon transplant and implants…..soft tissue repair really sucks. Time to go pop a happy pill now.

Craig, I'm pretty much in the same spot. Except I got rid of the Fox body in favor of an S550 that I wouldn't HAVE to work on!! The game changer is a hoist!! I'm a couple months shy of 70.

We are all still on the right side of the dirt. God knows I've had my share of nightmarish medical issues. I could write a novel on them. And the main thing is to keep moving forward and don't let the setbacks get you down. Find the light in the darkness.
