After 1000 miles driven (1600km), in the break-in period, meaning a very calm driving, I have had so far 4 refills. I still have to do the 5th refill to get it more accurate, but according to the car computer, average from the first fill-up until now is 11ltr/100 ( 21mpg), however the fuel-tracking app, which calculates it based on actual fuel loaded vs actual current mileage counter shows 13.39ltr/100km (17.56mpg). I tend to believe the fuel tracking app I use.
It is very hard to measure the consumption accurately outside in the real world though, as no fuel is equal, no pump is the same - some pumps will auto-stop loading earlier than others, so you can never be sure how much gas you have. The electronic fuel gauges consider current driving and change "Distance to empty", and "empty warning" depending on current consumption, so for me loading the tracking app seems to be working well in the long term.

I feel super dumb, but… How do you display mpg?? For the life of me, I cannot find any setting that allows you to display it. Looked through the manual and could not find anything there either. And while I’m at it, how the hell do you turn down the volume on the text incoming notification?

NM… found it and turned off the text tone.

I am at 1750 miles and averaging 16.0 mpg with almost no highway driving.

I believe that A10 versions have the MPG mostly determined by the shifting algo (which is optimized for both noise and consumption) as I do not believe that many A10 owners enjoy manual shifting especially when not in a competitive driving.

While for us M6 owners it is mostly a manifestation of our understanding of "good ride". When I got my car new, I was shy to drive it below 2k RPM simply because I thought it would get out of effective power band, so was keeping it between 2k-3k, and got higher only when I wanted to enjoy the V8 rumble. This led to 16-ish MPG.

Then, on one trip I decided to follow the Ford recommendations (the green arrow), which seemed to be trying to hold me in the 1500-2k RPM range. On the 300 km trip (180M) I averaged (with occasional spirited drive on the country road in between the villages) 18.8 MPG. I would expect that driving fully on computer recommendations would get me to even better efficiency.

The computer in my car also gives better MPG than what my calculations show, so I guess people reading it on the dashboard and people computing it themselves could get different values as well.

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST
I did the 5th refill. The application reports last drive average consumption was 12.15ltr/100km (19.36mpg), while the car computer reported 11.5ltr/100km (20.45mpg), which I consider fairly close.

At the same time average consumption since I bought the car till the last fill-up as per the app is 13.03ltr/100km (18.05mpg), while the trip computer reports 12.5ltrs/100km (18.82mpg).

At this point I would consider the technical specification numbers provided by Ford to be fairly accurate. I'd say the difference is within the 5% tolerance, so statistically it is accurate.

Bearing in mind the above, I honestly believe this car shouldn't be driven in the city - it either shall shred the course, or run in the wild on some winding roads.

I am also not sure whether higher octane fuel will have any effect on the mileage. I mean this is a huge atmospheric engine and I doubt higher octane will result in better consumption. Better maybe, but would it be worth the price difference...

A trip I took out of the Greater Toronto Area to drop off my son for Grandma and Grandpa visit and then to my girlfriend's in Guelph I was getting this. The Flux Capacitor hadn't kicked in yet! LOL

8.1 Litres per 100km is 29.4 mpg for those of you south of the Border.

@Rhyanski I'm getting very similar results. I did more thorough calculation based on receipts over 5200 km and my consumption is 13.1 l/100 km (17.95 mpg) while my onboard computer is showing 12.7 l/100km (18.52 mpg). So it's not that far off.

I really miss the "fuel quantity used" feature that was in the premium S197s trip meters. It would calculate fuel quantity used, I assume his was calculated by measuring the grams of fuel injected. It was dead on accurate, I checked it by looking at the quantity used, vs how many gallons I put back during a fill up. I did this in different driving conditions and sometimes at very near empty or half tank. It was accurate no matter what. That number was more accurate than the miles to E (MTE) calculation.

I wonder if this feature is hidden inside our cars, and can be accessed with Forscan? Anyone want to try?

I also notice a blank page in the settings menu (gear symbol) this is where you access trip, MPG, tire pressure. Scroll up and down and notice you will encounter a completely blank screen as you scroll. Always thought that was odd.

Funny enough I remember reports during the chip shortage, that they were waiting on chips that were used for MPG calculations. Heck even some trucks were delivered without that feature and were to be retrofitted later, I can't remember if it was Ford or Chevy ect.

Ford list's that info. City/Highway/Combined.
Sure they do. Still is not real life comparison, my car says 29 hwy and it gives me 32-33 in real life.
