I know, we didn't buy the Mach 1 for fuel economy. If you did you should have bought a Prius. I don't even care about gas mileage...
Just curious for the sake of comparing different drivers' experiences.
Please only "vote" if you have a Mach 1 (S550), without engine mods.
Thanks!

You may need to break this down between exploiters and coddlers.

Definitely should be able to tell the difference between those who use 6th gear and not. It makes a whopping 2mpg difference.

I'm trying to figure out how do you get down to 15. Short of hours of stop and go in a city. Or driving so far beyond the realm of sanity you're a threat to society and belong in prison. Or the car lives on the track.

I get 24 to 25 mpg on the highway. 20 combined, but I live outside town. 16 mpg when I'm getting sporty in the canyons.

Let's see, the car had a $1000 gas guzzler tax on it when I bought it. That was my first clue to never check the gas milage. Car is not modified, only use premium gas. It's all about the Smiles per mile for me.

Short trips kills your gas mileage. My drive to work is 5.5 miles and i dont baby it. If i only use the car to comute i can barely get 14. I manualy calculate it. The dash readout is always higher than actual.

I can explain :).

I have been recording the consumption and milage (kmage to be exact :)) since I got my Mach 1. I did it with every car I had, learned from my dad, who did it when there were no dash computers.
This way I have learned to not rely on dashboard computers much because they are usually off. By how much differs by make and model, but usually they are off and they are usually more optimistic.

I will be quoting metric attributes (and put imperial in parenthesis for American audience).

So since 17/2/2022 (2/17/2022) I have my car I drove 13.086 km (8,131 mi) and spent 2050 liters (542 US galons) of gas. This makes the consumption 15,67 l/100 km (15.01 mpg - US).

Now for the driving habits and conditions:
  1. I have Tremec which I believe is a key differentiator and the poll should be split for manual and automat. The auto is very consumption aware and if you do not push it, it will optimize the consumption. The manual does not optimize anything and I usually do not either.
  2. I drive mostly longer trips (+180 km, ~110 mi), out of city, and mostly on highway in Sport+.
And some statistics (the numbers correspond to the driving between two gas stops - usually with only few liters of gas left):
  1. The best consumption I got was when cruising on highway in low speed - 12 l/100 km (19.60 mpg).
  2. On the worst end I do not cross 18 l/100 km (~13.20 mpg), except for driving schools, track sessions and shop stops(!). Those however are not significant in the big picture.
  3. The average calculated price for a traveled distance (for the whole ownership) is 6,80 CZK/km (0.48 USD per mile).

Good info.
Yup, my computer seems to show about 1 MPG better than what the car is really doing. I'm driving about 25 miles each way, mostly going speeds of 50-60 with some slower traffic and couple miles of highway speeds up to 70. I am around 19.5 MPG so far.
