Just wondering who else has done this, and if you had any issues with the hose routing? It appears that this kit was designed to be installed on cars that do not have the firewall bracing. The path of the fuel lines forces the sensor directly underneath the brace, and makes it impossible for the lines to be in a neutral, or un-stressed position. The line that comes off of the OEM hard line against the firewall has to make a 90 degree bend to meet the sensor, which I think over time and heat cycles in the engine bay may cause the inner liner of the fuel line to fail. I have sent a request to the company but have yet to hear back.

I installed this kit on my 2018 GT a while back, and I had the same concerns. I ended up securing the ethanol sensor to the bottom of that corner brace with zip ties and some rubber cushioning between them. It has held very well for a year now. One of the crimp on clamps did fail a couple of months ago, it was the one I had to install myself (per the instructions), so that's on me. I would recommend tossing out the supplied clamps and use better clamps during installation.

I'll snap some under hood pics soon and post them up.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like the new kits for 2018+ cars do not have the crimp section anymore. The kit I got has billet connectors for every connection point including the stock fuel line portion. My concern is primarily the hard bend that the short section of hose has to make, due to the brace being in the way. I tried several different orientations and it always forces this bend in the line.

Gotcha. Yeah I opted not to go with the billet fittings for mine, and it looks like it may have been to my advantage. It appears the billet fittings are longer and force a tighter bend.

When I ordered mine, they hadn't made a 2018+ kit yet. Mine is the original 15-17 kit, so I don't know how much of a difference there is in yours.

I see the difference now! My kit reused the OEM bent barb fitting that connects to the firewall, so I have no bend in the hose. Pics below.

Side note: Your engine bay is way cleaner than mine 😅

Thanks for the pics, yeah your right, the billet fittings do seem to add too much length, but I think even with the plastic ones, it would force this bend since it isn't using the crimped section onto the old hose

I agree. I think a 30 or 45 degree angled fitting would have been perfect for that spot. Maybe you could get a new hose made with an angled fitting there?

For what it's worth, my opinion is that the bend in the hose probably won't pose a problem, as long as it's not kinked or pulled too hard. But it would bother me, too.

Yeah, Fuel-it said they too don't think it is an issue, but that the kit wasn't designed to be used on a MACH1. I told them the same problem would present itself for any car with the Performance package. They again said that the would not make any changes to their kit, or make a new line for me. I can certainly make new lines with the correct fittings, it just chaps my ass that they didn't address this issue. This place has all the necessary connectors and adapters to do it correctly.

Is the kit still holding up ok for you? Im going to order this soon for my M1. And do the user selectable ethanol Lund tune.

The only part of the Fuel-It kit I still use is the GM Flex Fuel Sensor and the bluetooth dongle. I have since adapted the setup to work on my return fuel system, with AN lines and the Aeromotive Sensor adapter.

However, the original Fuel-It kit worked just fine. I was initially concerned with the fairly aggressive bend in the fuel line coming off of the OEM hardline on the firewall, but it worked.

I think im gonna install my kit tomorrow. Would it be possible to install the line with the bend on it backwards so the shorter 90 degree bend fitting with the plastic tabs is coming off the firewall? Im not sure why 3 of the fittings are the billet cam locks and 1 is the plastic tab fitting. The website shows that fitting going on the inlet of the E sensor. Im not sure why it matters. All the male ends are the same so im not sure why the orientation of the plastic tabbed fitting would matter. Clearly this kit is too long for a M1.

Take picture of what you are talking about and post it, Im unclear what you mean my plastic tabs.

This is the current kit and how it is pictured on the Fuel It website. Wondering if i could reverse that so the 90 degree fitting with the white tabs could be at the firewall, and then maybe it wouldnt push it so far up towards the tower brace. Though then the extra length would be between there and the fuel rail connection.

It was a blue plastic fitting on the original kit. Its white now.

Im not sure why its not just 4 of the cam type connectors.
