Has anyone else come across this? Whenever the suspension is cold or warm after sitting for like 30mins-1hr I'll get a bad pop/crack out of both front wheels when coming to the first stop or backing out or into an incline. 16 GT. Going in for service but with my luck it wont happen when it is. My first thought is control arms but last time I got a steering rack (not this car). Dont think there is a TSB.

Yup, pretty common for the front tires? to pop when turning sharply on a cold day. People usually experience it turning or backing out of their driveway in the morning.

Mine seemed to only do it when it was pretty cold, and some people believe its the tire making the pop. Personally IDK, but anecdotally the noise on my car did go away around the time I got new tires (but it also warmed up a little bit in Texas that week, so I can't be certain). With the new tires and a change in the weather, the behavior on my car has completely stopped.

Its good to be a little concerned if you hear popping or banging from a suspension. Particularly if it sounds like it might be metal on metal. In this case it may be just a normal (albeit odd) thing.

This is 100% not tires. Its not even cold out anymore. Also its not just inclines or turns its even the first stop on am even surface with the wheels straight.

Weather says 44* for New Jersey right now, that definitely counts as cold for summer tires. Notice that NightmareMoon is in Austin, Texas where cold is really anything below 60 probably and would cause the popping.

Other than that, I don't have any other idea for what it could be. Since you mentioned both wheels in a straight line causing it, not so sure it would be the temperature in this case.

Never heard this except for when the first set of camber plates I chose bent and locked up during installation causing the spring itself to bind and BOOONNGG because the top bearing was stuck. Glad I have my Steeda camber plates now!

I had this same problem. Wound up being endlinks. Both replaced under warranty maybe 25,000 miles at the time.

I’ve heard it when tires are cold, tire scrub/popping due to castor with wheels turned only. Experienced it on 16 GT, Porsche Boxster, BMW 335.

I had a feeling it was them or the ball joints. Overhauling the entire suspension now as well as wheels (ftw it was over 100 and still pop/cracking like crazy). I suppose ill get endlinks to.. btw is there an upgrade over the PP arms??

Mine does it on hard sharp turns in parking lots and stuff, not sure what it is.

Brake pads are another possibility. My old 335i's pads would shift when going into reverse, and then on the first stop while moving forward they would make a "clicky poppy" noise while shifting back into "normal" position. The brakes would also make pops on the first brake engagement of the day (ala in my driveway). Common issue on these cars, though I haven't heard of it occurring on the Mustang. Either way, I changed the BMW's pads and all was well.

Changed my wheels and the noise is still there, worse then before also. Didnt ever get around to the suspension. Want to say its the endlinks as someone else said (even though I have never heard a new or bad endlink sound as bad as this) or the ball joints.. taking one last try at the dealer and leaving it overnight as its especially bad when the suspension is cold. If they "dont hear anything" im changing it out myself before something fails..

On mine I'm pretty sure it's the tires. If I'm backing out of the driveway AND turning the wheel sharply at the same time this happens.
Try this: turn the wheel more gradually when backing out. When I do that there is no noise. No noises at any other time either, even backing out of parking spaces.

Mine did the same, only when "cold," didn't necessarily have to be super cold outside but more so if the veh sat overnight or for more than 6 hours or so. Never really bothered me but did go away when I replaced the front tires.
