Maybe someone here can help me figure out the following problem, if it is a problem. I have a GT non PP with the Steeda springs, sway bars and strut tower brace. I installed all of that back in december. In the last few weeks I started hearing this noise in the front that sounds like something in the suspension is snaping/releasing tension when going over uneven surfaces, happens more often when going over speed bumps. I only hear it when going lower than 20mph. If both tires go over the speed bump at the same time i dont hear it.

I did remove the driver side tire yesterday and look around and could not see anything that would show any stress. Also checked the torque and nothing has moved (driver side only) the noise comes from both side, im going to look at both this weekend but i dont know what im looking for, help

I've been thinking that it might be the sway bars endlinks. I have them in the middle setting I will change them to the third hole softer

Changing the setting will only change how much resistance to roll when you make turns. If there is play between the bolt and nut clamping the sway bar to end link, it's still going to make the noise.

Another thing you might double check is that the springs are fully seated in the dampers and that the strut tower brace is fully tightened down. Anything flexing under load and then returning to normal could create that noise. Try driving with windows down, radio off and see if you can tell where in the front the noise is coming from.

make sure the lower end link stud isnt hitting anything when the spring compresses.

I agree with bigspoondude. I put the eibach pro springs on my car and could hear a thud like sound like something was loose and hitting something else when slowly going over even small bumps in the road. Turned out to be that after installing the spring, I hadn't fully tightened downed the top of the strut tower brace that holds the spring in place (about 3 turns short). Had the dealership take a look at it when they were swapping my trunk with one that had the spoiler delete. Fixed it right up. I'm curious as to how you fully tighten that nut because it likes to spin the whole assembly with it preventing it from actually getting tighter.

If it is that nut then is going to be hard to fix it myself. I still need to make sure that is not the endlinks. The sway bar braces (wher it attaches to the chasis) are adjusteble and I noticed that one is pulled forward and the other all the way back. I checked one side at a time this past weekend. First I'll make sure the bar is attached squarely (correctly) to the chasis.

Yea, i'd just double check all of your connections. I've done a lot of suspension work over the years and it's good practice, not just for suspension stuff but for most mods, to go back after a couple thousand miles and just give everything a good re-tightening. A lot of times there is leftover grease or oil on the parts from the manufacturing process that tends to make it a little easier for things to come loose.

I'm assuming you reused the stock upper strut mounts. Once reused on an S197, they were prone to clunking, which may or may not be what you're experiencing, assuming the S550 strut mounts are anything like the aforementioned 2005-14 pieces.

Thank you to all for the suggestions.:cheers::cheers: It seems that I fixed my problem. I loosened the sway bar braces and pushed the sway bar all the way back so that both sides were even. Did that on saturday and its wednesday and have not heard that noise any more. That was the problem! Even the steering feel alot better. :clap2::clap2::clap2:
