Are they actually forged wheels? If so what method?

No they are not. Flow forming is the process used. The name is a misnomer. The rim gets spun at high speed and rollers force it over a mandrel to produce the final shape. It does improve the mechanical properties of the metal but that is not a forging process in the true sense. And the center is just cast.

So have you reached out to either the vendor or the actual manufacturer to get a replacement? Or is warranty a moot point on aftermarket rims?

I just came back in from cleaning and thoroughly inspecting my D5s before I put them back on the storage rack. There were no signs of any cracks on mine, although the mere mention of cracks does have me concerned. I’ll be keeping a close eye on them whenever they’re in use from here on out.

I spoke with them and they asked for pictures. But I more so wanted clarification as to the specs on the wheels so I could order another. I didn’t ask for any kind of discount and they didn’t offer.

I mainly made the post so other would think m to check their wheels. Luckily my car was in the garage when the tire went flat. I’d hate for it to happen to someone while driving.

FWIW, I had a second set of Flow Formed wheels (p51) that came with my GT350R when I bought it. I immediately bought a set of Forged Wheels and sold the Flow Formed P51. Many people hadn't had issues but I had seen some failures online as well. To me it wasn't worth the risk.
