Mike, do you know by any chance what pulley would be a good fit for 2018+ roush supercharger to reduce the boost? Can a stock tune be used with bigger pulley without issues?
I haven’t checked into pulleys available for the Roush, but I am certain the stock tune would handle a reduction in boost just fine.

There's a really good reason why *no one* road races a supercharged car in basically any form. It's a huge PITA and you really don't go much, if any, faster. Sure, you'll make more power, but now you'll have to carry around all that crap on the front end of your car which hurts handling. You have to jump through all sorts of cooling hoops just to make it live. You put a lot more stress on the entire car (brakes, driveline, etc.), so running costs go up. It sounds cool to have 700 HP or whatever, but see if you can get within 5 seconds on lap time with a pro before considering adding power, IMO.

The only guy I ever knew who road-raced a supercharged car was Paul Brown (RIP) in his World Challenge SN-95. It sounded cool, but it was never very competitive. Paul was pretty good behind the wheel, too, but it's just a really tough package to make work.

You could always just spray shots of N20 on the straights. :)

You could install a CO2 fogger in front of the radiator and freeze the shit out of it, provided the track allows such things

The version of this that is actually reasonable is water/meth injection. It works awesome and Porsche uses it with their GT2.

Water/Meth injection cools the intake charge, which does help, but Im talking about lowering the temperature of the coolant system, so that the entire engine stays cooler.

That only happens with a serious effort concerning cooling the water and oil temperature.

No, just a big ass radiator and oil cooler and a bunch of work to make sure air goes through, as opposed to around, them.

I would probably go ESS G3 with the G4 intercooler on a 125mm pulley for low boost, paired with e85 if possible. My car is mainly a street car with possibly a couple of track days per year, so that would be my compromise. If it's a dedicated track car, I would just avoid boost tbh

My experience yesterday was solid. CHT temps rose quickly but didn't go beyond 230.

Brakes got a little cooked on the last but one lap so I slowed down for the final.

This was my first ever track day and I had a blast with the track, community and car. The only car that was ahead of me was the Mach 1. My rear was empty.

Note that this was a point pass, so if it looks odd, its because I needed 'permission' by the driver in front to pass.

Looks like a fun time, was it a SCCA Track Night event? I just ran there under the lights with JZilla and it was a blast.

We track test (Road course) all our systems before we ship them.

And frankly the biggest issue is... due to the amount of HP the system makes, its very easy to quickly over come the factory brakes. So thats the biggest issue to deal with, not heat management or anything.

If you are an A10 car you will have to do a LOT of cooling mods to keep the trans cool at the elevated power levels + track use. Unless you are just doing a time attack, or 1-3 laps.

Yes, it was the SCCA track night in America. $200 was a steal.
