I know a lot of people just use the stock hood with Track Spec vents. Much cheaper than an aftermarket hood, and looks pretty awesome, and also significantly improves cooling
Small correction - racelouvers are quite a bit more efficient as proven over time.
Until someone fabricates a ran tray solution for the trackspec, it's going to be a fairweather, track only type application.

Ya i just was looking at those. They look awesome but not having a rain tray is a no go for me.
My car has been through some pretty intensive rains and I wash it with power washer regularly. While my solution is not waterproof, it works well enough to keep engine bay protected from pouring water.

Smooth boost voids the whipple warranty, which is why it's very uncommon/obscure, but Dodge folks have been using them for some time. It replaces the abrupt vacuum actuated bypass and creates an electronic, variable way of bleeding off boost so you can control the onset and help better control torque management. I only have mine set to the simplest of logic, it's directly indexed to my pedal position (so 100% WOT pedal is 100% bypass closed, 5% pedal is 95% bypass). It helps to "smooth" out the boost curve.

With more sophisticated controls/management, it could follow other ramp rates (a parabolic curved increase) or be managed to be turned completely on or off at different moments.

I'm about to get my MOTEC installed and I haven't had deep conversations with the tuner about whether they'll try to incorporate it into their flex fuel strategies (which are easier with turbos but a little more complex to try to get 93 to work on a PD blower making 19 psi peak). We'll see.

So in theory, you could set it up to bypass more whenever you desire it, or bypass less whenever you want more sauce, both globally and even locally in the moment. Say you're trying to keep heat loads down and you're choking the boost and torque down, but in a key moment of the session you need the full sauce to make a clean pass, you could do that and then turn it back down.

It is certainly doable to get the heat issues under control. I have not done it, but here is what I would do:

1. ESS G2/G3 centri with larger intercooler. Maybe use an interchiller to get even colder temps.
2. 160 degree thermostat.
3. VMP triple pass heat exchanger (radiator). They use this on supercharged track cars. Looks to be better than the Mishimoto offerings.
4. Hood and fender vents.
5. Upgraded oil pan/pump/oil cooler.
6. Use ethanol if possible.

You could do all this for under $10k which is the cost of most supercharger systems. This is just for engine cooling, and you'd also have to consider transmission and diff cooling. This would probably add 50 lbs to your car, but you'd be making almost double the power.

Just remove the thermostat. Dont waste the money on a lower temp one.

Yeah, heat management with these cars is already a nightmare, let alone making that much power. I think that's a big reason they went with that giant hood extractor.

I agree that the cats would be on borrowed time, 100%. Turbos would be better here.
there's a reason the GT500 weighs what it does and it has everything to do with cooling.

a ford engineer one stated "when you add FI there's really no way around adding antoher 200lbs to the nose of the car for all the necessary things".
