I'm looking to mount a fire extinguisher in front of the passenger seat that moves with the passenger seat. I like the Brey Krause mounts but I also don't want to pay $300 for this.
Does anyone have a cheaper solution? If anything else, I'll take measurements and go make my own brackets. (Unless a kind-hearted person already has measurements and wants to share that info...)

I used a piece of strap steel and mounted it to the inside front passenger seat bolt and it lays along the transmission tunnel. Cost about $10 and it doesn't move around at all and I can get to it fairly easily. I'll try to dig up a pic or grab one this evening.

Mine doesnt move with the seat, but this is what I made. Pre-made ones were over $100, I made this out of an old street sign lol.

I'm using a combination of the Brey Krause R-2160 ($89) and Joes Racing 12830 ($113) mounts. Not perfect because the knob has to be positioned on the bottom but since I have mine on the drivers seat its actually very accessible and never gets in the way.

You could very easily mount the cheap mounting latch that comes with most fire extinguishers to the BK mount.

Mine was simple and cheap and it doesn’t move around.

That doesn't look secure at all... Maybe it doesn't move during cornering, but during a crash you don't want that to be a projectile. Is it held only to the seat by only that thin sheet steel??

I don’t think it’s going anywhere personally but if you are just tie it into the other front seat bolt like someone did above.

Would one of these fire extinguishers fit in the pouch behind the chair? That would be a free solution.

Why does the knob have to be positioned on the bottom?

That BK mount tucks up really close to the seat cushion. The knob would pull up into the seat cushion if it was position on top. I’ll try and get a pic later today

Interesting. I have the BK mount already and I was planning to use the cheapy bracket that came with the fire extinguisher. Doesn't seem the most secure but worth a shot I suppose.

How does the BK mount hold up? Is it fairly secure?

It’s real secure, no issues.

For you guys mounting it below the driver's seat like that, does it ever touch or rub your leg if you're shifting around? Looking to fit a 2lb bottle to meet some safety requirements.
