Ya. I prefer pulling all the badges off myself. I was a bit shocked to see the side/trunk badges were drilled. Usually the big trunk badges are but not much else.

I think I have used "Blap" and "Blapping" before -- describing a cammed-out V8 though: "BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP!" --- that's "Blapping". Might need a "BLOOP" in there too: "BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-BLOOP-BLAP-BLAP-BLAP-" etc.

I have typically removed all badges from my vehicles where possible. I was bummed to find out that grill trunk and fenders all had locating holes. I ended up switching from chrome to matte black and they are a lot less noticeable, I also removed the "GT" in the rear and put the matte black horse. I think it looks better than the letters and is cheaper than the ford racing deck lid

Until someone who has an EB with GT badges on it steals my lunch money, I don't give a $&!)

badging up just seems wrong to me....which is opposite of the old days of 60's/70's muscle cars where you swapped out your motor badges to smaller motor cubes and sandbagged.

Who do you think is buying up all these stock GT grilles?

Go to a car event sometime with new Mustangs. You'll see what appears to be a line of Mustang GTs based on the grilles. But then you'll notice that 6 of those 7 are lacking heat extractors on the hood, and are actually Ecoboosts.
Liking the GT grille type isn't the same as putting an actual badge claiming it is something it is not.

It could be worse though, I have seen a Ford Fiesta with a pony emblem on the front grille.

My stock GT exhaust sounds similar to a Ecoboost or V6 when I'm driving normal. Only time it "sounds" like a V8 is during cold start, WOT, or rev-matching downshifts that gives some burble. I don't mind others dressing up their car. Not my car and not my money. They're free to do what they want, and we're free to think how we want about their cars.

I'm among those annoyed that the 5.0 and GT badges have location holes -- I also wonder whether the heat extractors actually do anything -- sure, they are open, and "functional", but I thing the plain hood looks clean -- the export GT doesn't have the vents... I'd love to make mine a little sleepier, but I actually like the GT on the trunk versus the pony, or a gas-cap emblem.

The hood vents are actually a functional part of the aerodynamics of the car rather than heat extractors.

Here's a pretty cool video on the various aerodynamic elements of the S550: [ame]

Do more people remove GT badging? I see a lot of new mustangs in central NJ and maybe 1 in 10 is a GT.

I'd seen that video -- I hadn't paid close attention to the few seconds discussing the reduction of pressure under-hood -- but I still maintain that putting pressure into the engine bay in the first place is to provide cooling air for the radiator -- so while it reduces lift, it also allows heat to exit post-radiator as well.

I call them heat extractors half the time myself. I was just trying to provide some info in response to your questions about the functionality (or lack thereof). My apologies if I offended you.

@AV80R -- none taken. It just seems that most of the time the economies of scale would mean it makes more financial sense for Ford to have put them on every Mustang, rather than just on American GT's -- but maybe not.
