I've seen a customer several times that has a GT with the GT350 front fascia, fenders, and 350R wing but didn't take the time to remove the "GT" off his trunk lid.

As for the Roush RS/RS1/RS2, they are all equally ridiculous because all you are really buying is the body kit and exhaust. All the performance mods are extra. I saved $8k by picking up the power pack and got more car with less flash.

Unfortunately for me, I've barely gotten to enjoy it :frusty:

So anyway. My car has GT badges. But I lifted the hood and found a 4 banger under the hood. So that's why it's so fast!:D

A few years ago I used to have an 07' E63 BMW M6, and I came across someone with a 650i with M6 bumpers and exterior trim and badges. It was all fun and games till I revved my V10. Generally I'm against removing badges, but I swapped my trunk GT badge and grille horse for the coyote badge. As for bumpers, I find the mustang to be more of a blank canvas to mod with.

Local Chrysler/Dodge dealer has a brand new 2016 Challenger HEMI shaker edition with a 5.7L ....

The shaker scoop has "392" on it....

Nothing wrong with that. From the rear, mine looks like a gt350 track pack, but I left the GT trunk panel because I like it, and I don't want anyone (that's in the know) mistaking it for a 350.

I may change my mind down the road and replace the trunk panel with a blank one, but I prefer having the badge.

There's seriously nothing exclusive about owning a GT.
I guess the Camaro guys got us in exclusivity...haha.
You know, since the Mustang is out selling the Camaro about 2:1.

Putting poser emblems on cars is strange to me. The people that will actually notice the emblem will also be the ones that know it's an imposter. Same thing happens in BMW-land. M3 badges on a regular 3-series...

Fake GT badges... I remember seeing a V6 car so over the top once I took a picture of it for posterity.

This is pretty is common. Put Cobra badges on a GT and go post it over on SVTP, LOL. I can recall many shitshows when someone shares their Fobras. I personally don't care what people do to their cars, it's theirs. If they put time and money into making it look and drive nice, I can respect it.

Corvette guys slap on Z06 badges, Focus ST guys will start putting RS badges on, Civic guys with VTEC/SI stickers, GT owners with Shelby emblems, etc.

This will happen with any car that is perceived as "cooler." 12 years ago, my first car was a used V6 Mustang. I have always loved cars and wanted to participate in cruises/shows etc. Unfortunately, I was always talked down to and told that I did not have a real Mustang. With people being so demeaning, I could see how somebody would want to fake a "GT" simply to become accepted or fit in. 12 years later, I've owned a Corvette and two GT's and don't pay attention to badges anymore. But I'm always sure to give a Mustang driver the thumbs up no matter what it is.

I'm one of those that prefers to go badge free. Both of my last 2 cars were totally de badged. Damn Ford for drilling through the fender for the GT badge. No idea why they would do that when today's automotive adhesives are so good.

Two debadged cars from my recent past...

The C7 crest on the front and rear bumper was inset and the Cadi emblem was held by a post that went through the trunk. It is a CTS-V :)
