Can you feel a difference with new tune on the ole butt dyno? I'm thinking I'll need to change shift points on the auto. Probably need to shift a bit sooner.

Excellent! Rob does my timing too. Is yours an auto? Glad Rob will have done a tune for this before he does mine. He does excellent work.

Master ..... after a few days of driving with the manifold, what are your thoughts.
Feels great. It's not super fast difference but pulls so much better and like a v8 should from all rev levels. It noticed the rev hang when you push the clutch in is gone. Mpg rating is still fluctuating since i reset it so no report there yet.

Oh and breaking the back wheels out is stupid easy now.

When you say rev hang do you have the FRPP 2 kit on?

Nope. All stock 2017 6spd.

My understanding the frpp 2's latest revision fixed this issue.

Did he change your shift points?
I believe so as Sports mode definitely feels different but I'll double check with him.

Below are my logs if anyone is interested

3rd Gear R.Shoemaker Tune:
https://datazap.me/u/jcart9532/3rd-gear-rshoemaker-v1-modified?log=0&data=15

Pre Rob tune (PP2, F150 Mani, Catback)

https://datazap.me/u/jcart9532/gt-pp2-catback-f150-mani?log=0&data=15

Looking into revisions now but some things I noticed was Pre tune i was getting 25 spark between 2000-3000ish RPM. Now I get 10-20? I'm pretty sure there are things going on behind the scene but anybody know why? Also notice knock sensors are now moving. Anybody else see anything I can relay back?

Perhaps markmurfie can help out :D

Sports mode I noticed biggest change as things felt more crisp and kick ass lol. I was practically thrown into my seat. My fun was short lived as I came behind an officer so i shifted back to D and slowly went back home. I should have a better feel again tomorrow after driving longer and after future potential revisions.

And I stand corrected. The rev hang is still there. Guess it will just have to be tuned out regardless.

The pp2 tune uses per cylinder knock strategy. It was definitely working you just wouldn't see it in the knock PID being logged.

Rob like other custom tuners use the stock Global knock strategy. The PID being logged shows this.

The pp2 low rpm timing is aggressive because of their improved knock strategy. It does not change VCT from stock. One major issue with this is low RPM ford starts with the exhaust advanced and slowly retards it to a peak at mid range and then advances it in the higher RPMs. I can only guess the low RPM advance position is emissions related. Having the exhaust closing advanced reduces the length of the power stroke and reduces torque. Robs tune improves this by having the exhaust start at a peak in the lower RPMs and advance only when needed. Headers would further take advantage of the VCT improvement. He could be keeping the low rpm timing conservative while you go through revisions and it will increase later on. It could also just be a way to keep risk of mid RPM knock low and make sure your high rpm power is always there where you want it. Most tuners don't change things less than 3k RPMs as it does show on dyno runs or at the track. It would mostly be a change in the way the engine feels in higher gears while cruising, which is not usually an area people are looking for more power as they will usually find it more beneficial to downshift.
Robs tune the fuel trims are not as dialed in as the pp2 tune. This makes any improvement in load inaccurate and difficult to compare improvments.
Excluding the improvement to the transmission which can make up a lot, At this revision I would choose the pp2 tune over Robs tune from a engine only stand point and just make sure to use top tier premium fuel. Its fuel being dialed in better and using a better knock strategy are very important for optimal engine power and engine life.

Been sitting on the manifold and sensor (to plug the hole) for a month or so now, figured I would install it this morning.

Hardest part was unplugging/replugging in the sensors in the rear along with the harness tie downs. Other than that, the linked LMR video posted in this thread walks you thru most of the install and gives you the torque specs for re-assembly. 2-4hr job covers the install and learning curve. Just take your time and it’s easy.

Thanks for the info and pics! Let us know how it feels after you get some driving time with it
