Here’s a dyno from a 2017 GT350 that I tuned. Car was stock running 93 octane. Dynojet using STD Smoothing 5. Gained ~15hp and 5tq. Could probably play with VCT a bit and smoothing things out and maybe pick up a bit more.
I’ve seen several that were bad. Some very rich and smoking. I’ve written tunes that corrected them and my customer was much happier with my tune than Bama tune.
I have catless Long Tubes, a Magnaflow Resonated X pipe and Pypes Street Pro axlebacks that are touring type mufflers v very conservative. I wanted things quieter so I added Stainless Bros 12” Resonators and they are straight through so no restriction. Exhaust is much quieter, especially at idle...
I have catless LTs and had 12" Stainless Bros resonators installed just aft of the collectors in place of the cats and then they go into a Magnaflow Resonated X pipe and I have Pypes Street Pro axle backs that are a touring axle back similar to Borla touring or Roush touring axle backs. It...
The Ford Beginner book for the Coyote engines is pretty good. They’ve added material for 2015+ to improve it but it isn’t perfect. Still not a bad book over all. The EcoBoost material is an online video series and you can watch the videos as many times as you want. They don’t have a book yet but...
The Tuning School is the only one who teaches you how to specifically tune a Coyote or EcoBoost. They have a solid program but it isn’t perfect. They’re improving their documentation and support and the seminar you attend is done by Tony Gonyon and he is fantastic! I have really enjoyed learning...
By locked, I mean you cannot read the tune and see the parameters. The tune is encrypted. It’s done to protect Intellectual Property. Even when you data log PIDs using an NGauge you can only read so much. Not saying you can’t see useful info but the pros have to protect what they do or everyone...
Any tune you buy from PBD, Lund, or any other big name tuner is going to be locked where you can't open the tune or change any settings in it. Even if you could, you need to know what you are doing. On 2015+ Coyotes there are 26 Mapped Points tables just for Spark.
HP Tuners has a great support network. Not sure about SCT, I don't know anything about tuning with that product. I started out buying a tune from Rob Shoemaker and after a couple years I decided I wanted to learn more about tuning so I started diving into that and went with The Tuning School...
You can tune your own car using HP Tuners software and the MPVI2 to read your stock tune and load back the custom tune. I wouldn’t recommend doing all that without getting some training on it. I took the Ford Beginner class at The Tuning School and have learned a ton but there is always plenty...
I installed my 2M headers early in January and they fit perfectly. Was able to reuse all the factory studs. Great looking welds, and the gauge of the steel is the same as the big name headers. Time will tell how well they hold up.
I have Stainless Bros resonators which are straight through and have no restriction. They will help with the rasp and drone and give a deeper tone. You can hear my exhaust at RM Motor Werks website.
Jobodizo - I have catless LTs, Magnaflow Resonated X pipe and Pypes Street Pro Axle backs that are more of a touring exhaust and pretty similar to the Sports. My car had not buzzing or vibration and I had just a touch of drone at about 1500-1600 but nothing crazy. I wanted to knock down some of...
I had a Magnaflow Resonated X pipe with 2.25” inlet and 2.5” outlet that went into Pypes Street Pro axle backs which are pretty tame touring mufflers. Was happy with sound and volume until I installed LTs. Not bad at idle or light throttle but too much volume when you roll into it for my taste...
I’ve been to several of the Street Fights events at Bristol and seen so many of the Hellcats struggle to get better than 13s. Bristol is not the fastest track but much of the problems that I can see are driver mod and traction. The manual cars really struggle and most seemed to be on factory...
