I would take a look at the alignment. My tires are equally worn at 39K miles. I have the PS4S. Lasted pretty long time.

So were mine! I changed to Continental Sport Contact 7 (different name in the US) and after 20k+ miles they were completely fine with no changes to the alignment. PS4S seem very prone to cupping.
hmm interesting. Maybe I got lucky.

Yes, thank you for the clarification. So I decided I should look at my Cup 2s and see if they have the Michelin MPSN on them somewhere. Using the Michelin site, the list of Cup2s looks like the below. Assuming FOR means Ford, my fronts should have 49942 on them somewhere. If they do, I couldn't find it.

I looked them up on Discount Tire, try searching the VPN’s (vendor part number). The GTIN is the global numbers

awesome, thanks! I did manage to find the fronts on BJs site, I missed it in my search because I, or they have the speed rating wrong.

but I’m convinced the rears aren’t there. They are about $100 cheaper than TR with the rears they do sell, and they include installation. BUT, I haven’t looked into whether they have equipment for the job that I’m comfortable with.

Those rears they have are probably the standard Michelin Total Performance tires, so not a specific OE model. Nothing wrong with them, just not the Ford designated model

39k when everyone else is getting ~20k?, sounds like theres a typo in there somewhere, but mileage does depend on the usage. If you use them slowly and they heat cycle and harden up early on, you can probably get more miles out of a set.

I was using 33 to 34psi most of the time (though the weather screwed with my pressures sometimes) and my tires looked about like that at 28,000 miles.

Stangnut must be driving harder than me. 🤨
Yep so it ain't the tyre pressure doing it. If you'd said 40 +psi then I'd expect to see that sort of wear.

Not sure if I should start a new thread...

Is road force balancing important for 4S or Cup 2s?

BJs doesn't do it, and they don't have an appropriate machine to mount tires on CF rims.

I'm going through TR's certified installers now, only a few of those have RF balancers, and few have an appropriate mounting machine, I only found one so far that has both.

Fronts you say, what PSI are you running?
I got lazy and let them drop to about 29 one time, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. That and I was driving it pretty hard for the first couple of years, lol.

No Typo, I do some spirited driving but I don't do burnouts. I guess I got lucky.

2019 GT PP1 10,000 mostly highway miles not raced or cornered hard, noticed cupping/feathering and excessive inside wear.
Swapped tires side to side, alignment checked in spec with slight toe-out.
Set toe to 0, drive another 4000 cupping stopped but continued with wear already started until 1 small patch of cord showed on 1 tire.
14,000 miles, replaced Michelins with Conti sport 2s, rechecked alignment still where set in spec, reset with slight toe-in that is still within in spec.
Now watching the outside and inside for wear. Will be awhile as the car has only been rained on once and is not a daily.
Not real impressed. Ford!

Is it a Ford problem or Michelin?

I have my own RF balancer. The 4S's that I have gotten for multiple different vehicles, have been the most perfect (construction-wise) perf tires I have ever had, in balancing and RF numbers. I'm not sure I would worry too much with those.

Here is a 305, 4S I recently put on some Velgens for the street.

2, is an ultra low number for "road force".
I like 10 or less for high perf tires and 15 max.

Even tire runout, was an insane 3 thousands.
