Just installed Speed Engineering catless headers with off road X. Really didn’t like the way it sounded so I installed some Vibrant 12” resonators. They helped, but not enough. Looking to get rid of the rasp. Anyone come up with a tried and true solution for a good sounding exhaust with 3” catless headers?

I recently acquired a set of Stainless Works Legend cat back from @beefcake and I can’t imagine a better sounding exhaust.

We have SW LTH and catless as well. The sound is very tame and pleasant throughout the entire RPM band.

My previous setup was the LTH with cats into Borla Switchfire and stock mufflers. It sounded good but was also slightly raspy.

The SW Legend pipes have resonators and are truly music to the ears…

I have an ESS supercharger. Cats aren’t an option. Thought about buying a stock suitcase resonator and throwing it back on.

Go with the stock resonator, it will stop the rasp but still provide the current overall sound level.

Running stock active mufflers. Would like to keep them if possible.

I'd do an aftermarket full-size muffler style resonator in the stock location

Like Kenbike said, put the stock resonator back in. I had kooks catless long tube headers with a xpipe and it was unbearably loud and raspy. As soon as I put the stock resonator back in, it brought back the deep tone and tamed the loudness a bit. I still feel like its a loud setup but I love that it has a deep tone

I had that problem with a x-pipe once I installed my ESS G3, I had 2.75 pips with flow masters and I had drone and raspyness with 2m Fabrication Headeres, I installed MBRP street along with H-pipe did away with the drone and raspyness. A exhaust is 3' no cats sounds great when you get on it. NO CATS NO RESONATORS...Oh yea I have a vert..

I tried to fight the raspiness on my 800 whp whipple set up. Eventually bit the bullet and forked out the $$$$ for the GESI Gen 2 G sport series cats. Got rid of 90% of the remaining rasp that catless had.

Been a few years at 800+ and cats hold up just fine. I have COT protection turned on in tune to come in at 1650 (along with 02 and exhaust manifold protection). You can vband them to make swapping in/out for track easy in case you want to use a 2 step and/or no lift shift that does ignition cut.

We also have the same series cats on our 1070whp hellcat and have not had any issues. Inspected twice a year, and look flawless. Hellcat is run exclusively on e85 purchased by the 50 gallon drum.

My mustang I run pcmtec canbus flex.

I'm catless as well running Borla S types with the Borla 60661 resonator in place of the X pipe. The resonator tames the exhaust a very good amount.

I looked at the Borla 60661. Wondered how it would work with my setup. I have to keep my X as the rear O2 bung is on it.
