Like Kenbike said, put the stock resonator back in. I had kooks catless long tube headers with a xpipe and it was unbearably loud and raspy. As soon as I put the stock resonator back in, it brought back the deep tone and tamed the loudness a bit. I still feel like its a loud setup but I love...
That's crazy! I am glad they held up so well. I will getting these for sure when the time comes. My ultimate goal is to do kooks long tube headers so this works out perfectly as I want to retain the cats if I can. Thanks!
Ah okay. Yeah then, mine will probably go out sooner than I thought.
Did you get the competition connection pipes and then have someone weld those cats in? Seems like a way to save a good chuck of change than buying the connection pipes with the cats already on them?
Thank you for that tip. I know it's not a matter of "if" but "when" they are going to fail again. The latest calibration from Whipple doesn't pop and crackle like the original one which I am sure drastically decreased the life of the cats. Does your car make pops on deceleration?
Also are you...
Yes. That didn't work. I even tried turning off FAOSC in the calibration as that logic uses the rear o2s to calibrate the front o2s. And I figured having no cats, would throw that off.
Got this car back in May at 16k miles. I was told the Whipple was placed on at around 10k miles and then custom tuned my a local tuner on a dyno. Pretty sure that may have contributed to the short life span of the original cats. (The car popped and crackled so much on deceleration).
A month...
For the last several months, I’ve been dealing with code P219A on my 2021 Mustang Mach 1 equipped with a Whipple Gen 5 Supercharger. Unfortunately, my stock catalytic converters clogged up, and I took the cheapest route to fix the issue — gutting (hollowing out) the cats while keeping the...
I do agree it is dumb. You kind of figured since everything is marked, that it would be. I did noticed that on beefcakes website. Although the same can not be said about American Muscle which is where the seller on FB bought his from. When I was speaking to McLeod, they compared their clutch to...
That is what I thought too. But the installation sheet said that I need to balance the flywheel and clutch together and they are not pre balanced. I even called McLeod and they told me the same thing unfortunately. They were going to charge me 150 plus 60 each way so they could balance it. So...
I didn't even think I would need spacers for the slave cylinder. The spec sheet that came with the McLeod specified that the clutch is designed to work within the tolerances of the oem slave cylinder. I did go ahead and order a new oem slave cylinder as my car is at 40k miles so figured might as...
Awesome, I may have to go that route in the future... I didn't really research them this time around because I always thought they shocked the MT-82 transmission and break them. Although, I was able to pick up a brand new RST for cheap from FB marketplace. It was about $800 compared to the...
That is good to hear, I figured there would be a little chatter as it's unsprung. But I think the benefit of possibly not having high rpm lockout would outweigh that con for me. Plus clutches are already expensive and the RST seems to be the budget friendly route, some things are going to...
Woah, those are some high rpm launches. Most I have done is a 4k launch which requires me to slip the clutch a little if I want to maintain traction. I don't really do any drag racing... more of a street car and sprinted driving (hence my issue with high rpm lockout going from 1st to 2nd or 2nd...
Those are my concerns too. I am wondering if the aluminum flywheel will cause issues with drivability. I do remember driving a mustang with an aluminum flywheel and it would stall out easier.... Had to give it more revs to get it going. It seems like all 2018+ clutches come with aluminum...
I have noticed that it seems like all clutch replacements for a 2018+ mustang all come with lighter flywheels that are aluminum. Why is this the case? The OEM duel mass flywheel is steel but every manufacturer seems to use a single mass aluminum flywheel to replace the OEM one. Any one have...
I currently have 20x9 +24 front rims with Nitto555 G2 285/35/20 tires. I am in the market for some new tires for the fronts. I like the fitment but have noticed rubbing inside the fenders. I was lowered on Ford X springs but raised the car back up to prevent further damage from hard rubs. Would...
That’s a pretty noticeable difference! I am 95% sure that would be your issue. My f150s o2s look more like the one on the left. Just has a longer wire
