I've never driven a centri, I hate the way turbo's drive. I do like the instant response from a PD blower.

Question is, does a centri behave more like a PD or a turbo?

Just a guess but maybe a combination of both. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you @engineermike and @Brad1810r80 for the responses. I will be reaching out to my tuner with questions about this to see their thoughts and see what if anything can be changed.

I honestly kick myself all the time for going the direction I did in SCer choice. I’ve contemplated pulling it off and selling so I can go a different direction. My wife would skin me alive probably if I did so.
I feel your pain. I made the same mistake and switched to Whipple. It was worth the money to me, and I recouped some of the loss by selling the kit. With the Roush, I would basically get one pass, then it was heat soaked and I might as well go home. If you can figure out a way ($ wise) it might be worth it. Everyone's priorities are different of course, but with how often I track the car, it was worth it to me.

Related to this thread, I'm having to go from a LTH to a setup extremely similar to @engineermike. This was very useful data. I'm hitting the track tonight for one last time with the LTH set up. It'll be interesting to see if, after the swap, if anything changes drastically in terms of ET/MPH.

Just got off the phone with stainless brothers and was told the bullet resonators are true 3 inch all the way through, but was told they are packed with fiberglass even though the web site claims 304 packing material.

Don't know what to think.

My new exhaust project… well I should say my new exhaust and my shops new project. 3” from the collectors back. Should open up the flow just a little bit for my Roush!

A centrifugal delivers its power very linearly with rpm, much like the n/a powerband, there is just more of it. There is no real torque surge like when a turbo spools up, and there is no real overabundance of low rpm torque like the PD blowers which deliver it pretty much at any rpm. It really comes down to how you want the power to be delivered.

Centrifugal typical coyote powerband- 3500-7500+rpm

PD- Eaton 2650 rotor pack- idle-7300rpm when the stock cams start to fall off

PD- Whipple- 3000-7500+rpm

Turbo- Heavily dependent on turbo sizing, they can be made to spool very fast, but will sacrifice top end. Bigger turbo's can be laggy, but make great power mid-range to upper RPM power.

IMO, a centrifugal is a perfect match for the A10, it doesn't shock the drive train as much as a PD and each gear change at wot it just continues to pull, pull and pull.

I believe fiberglass packing attenuates noise better and is commonly used in motorcycle mufflers. Plus the stock resonator has fiberglass packing.

I would love a sound clip when done. I want a cat back but cant decide on a system. Right now its between a corsa double H but add a resonator (two bottles or the one your using), magnaflow xmod though i wish it was a h pipe resonator and 304 throughout, or stock gt500. I have things i like and dislike on everything i see on the market....

I am supercharged and running catless headers and have active exhaust. I dont dislike the factory active with the h pipe resonator delete however its to raspy when i get on it and i would like the larger pipe dia for better flow.

Someone is selling a stock gt500 cat back on this forum. I’d get it myself if it weren’t across the country. I can’t imagine what the shipping might cost.

My car does heat soak but no where near as bad as it did before I put the killer chiller on which helps recover pretty quickly. I wished for awhile I had gone with a Whipple but I’ve been looking more an more at Centris lately. I’m sure I could break even on cost of supercharger what I could sell the Roush and killer chiller for together for say an ESS kit. Biggest issue for me is the down time between the two because lead times are a ways out there for ESS and even Whipple as you well know. The car is my daily driver but I literally live across the street from my job so walking isn’t out of the realm of things. So many ways to go just comes down to the sacrifice I’m willing to make.

Fiberglass or Ceramic Fiber ?
Many don’t know the difference or just use the generic term fiberglass packing.
