This happened to me a few times when my car was new. I'm at 15,000 miles now. I thought maybe it had worked itself out, but then it happened again just the other day. Died while coasting to a stop. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. C'mon Ford, solve this issue already!
I agree with the potential safety issue.
Not saying this is a cause or a remedy but l changed where l was getting my fuel, it happened to me twice (ref post 100) using a purported top tier gas from a budget ARCO station.
Since the change l haven't had an issue, but who knows?
Service dept couldn't find any evidence the event(s) ever happened, which seems to be the norm for others with this issue.

I really doubt this is gas related. I only use top tier gas rated stations and not particularly picky about brand and this still happens. I agree that this issue can get dangerous as the car shutting off at the wrong time can cause serious issues.

I suggest you put your name and vin in just in case anything happens

I brought my car in for this issue, mainly and some other things like the mirror going weird and an oil change.

My ECU was updated with the most recent version.

My suggestion is to contact Ford on this board. Read back a few pages and send them a PM. They will contact you back. They'll liaise with your dealer and check your car out.
Have you had any issues since the ECU update?

No. I can drive it on the side streets and it's nice and smooth. On the highway it hauls ass. Every mode works perfectly and the smoothness through out the rev range is definitely present.

So far so good. My mirror on the other hand...

That's good to hear. I'll go ahead and schedule an update with my local dealer. Thanks!

This weekend my car stalled out while sitting in a drive thru while in neutral. Started right back up but it was very strange and annoying for a newer car to be doing this. I had a previous issue with my car having trouble cranking up once the engine was warm which I had remedied and was hoping I wouldn't have any other issues... Now I have this to worry about.

Anybody else have any updates, good or bad? I have another appointment next Monday. Curious if there's anything else I can suggest to them.

So I just had the TSB 15-0128 for the idle dipping and engine stalling done. First impression is that the idle seems to be constant now. From what I observed, with the A/C on, the car idles at about 700 rpms and about 600 with it off. Haven't had it die as of now but I also haven't had much time to drive it after the TSB.

I did have to go back to stock tune to get this updated and have not uploaded my tune back since I want to drive it this way for a while. For those who are just reading this post, the stalling was occurring with and without the tune.

Driversound, are you modified at all or did you just have the aftermarket tune? I've had the car in twice for this and I just had it die on me this morning, so I'm curious to know your situation and hear how the TSB works out.

Fairly stock. I suggest you make an appointment for the ecm update and contact the Ford rep here as they get in touch with the dealership as well. Makes things go smoother. I haven't driven the car much yet but no stalling so far.

Ive had this stalling problem happen a total of 3 times since ive purchased the vehicle in Nov 2014. I have no mods at all. All 3 stalls was when i was coming to a stop light with the clutch pushed in. I have 25,xxx miles now and it just happened 6/11/2016 so this only happening with low mileage GTs is out the window. All 3 times the car was already warm. Took it into the dealership and of-course they couldn't duplicate the problem. Ive told them its happened 3 times since 2014. But this is my 1st american made car and this kinda pisses me off since Ford hasn't done anything about it. Also Ive had the issue where drive modes were unavailable, hill assist unavailable, TC unavailable, and I think some others. That happened twice, once in traffic and the other on a random start up a month later. Now Im filing the NHTSA.....

Did the dealer ever re-flash the computer with a newer software version?

Ask the dealer if there is a software update for the ECU. If so, it might be worth having it re-flashed with the newest software.

I already picked it up but I'll ask tomorrow. Im curious to see what Ford is going to tell me tomorrow. Im also going to write someone a nice long email about this. I drive with my 1year old son in the back seat from time to time and if the car dies while on a turn or something that wouldn't be good because of lose of power steering. But I'll keep up with this forum and update you guys with results.
